Something very exciting happened on Sunday at the Witchy Bay market!
Matt Wesolowski, author of the Six Stories series, came by and signed several of his books for us! I am a massive fan of his work, so I was obviously very cool and chill about this, which is why I'm making a whole damn post about it.

Things like this are a bit surreal to me sometimes. This bookshop has been a dream of mine for so long that when things like this happen, it's almost hard to believe. But no, Blood Stone Books is now a visible enough thing that one of my personal favourite authors knows it exists and signed some books for it. Which is pretty damn cool tbh.

While a part of me does just want to hoard these for myself, I won't do that. The signed copies of Hydra, Beast, Deity and Demon are available in person while stocks last.

Ah man what a good book. It's rare that I rate a book five stars but this one totally earned it!

The nature, the magic, the rage and stubbornness. Such a good combination. The lengths that Tess goes to protect her land and herself is incredible. I got so into reading it that I fully zoned out and accidentally ignored a customer (my bad 😂). Without spoiling it, it's hard to talk about the 'rock bottom' moment' (in a story arc way) but damn, yes I should've known that's what she'd do but it came as a shock anyway. It made total sense, and then all her actions afterwards, while tinged with desperation, also made sense. I loved it. Highly recommend!

Really enjoyed the contrast between the Buddleia and the flyer covered concrete barrier when I was in Ouseburn the other day. Something something the tension between man and nature emphasising the beauty of both? Idk I just thought it was neat.

Currently on holiday so my posts might be a little sporadic. Definitely looking forward to the break after a crazy couple of months.
