So… the intention was to take photos of all the stages of making this lovely free motion embroidery piece and then turn them into a fancy reel (which I am already totally useless at anyway!). However… I forgot to take a pic of the first step, congratulated myself on remembering the second one and from that point onwards, just sailed through in oblivious ignorance right on to the end. 😣 Absolutely nailed it again!! 😂
So, please use your imagination to fill in the gaps. This starts with me handwriting the words onto felt then, using my free motion sewing foot I stitch the words with the thread, just like you would when writing, except it’s my fingers controlling the needle rather than a pen. It’s tricky and you have to have an incredibly steady hand and great timing, the speed of your needle has to be a perfect match for how fast or slow you are feeding the fabric through the machine. It’s not easy and believe me, many mistakes are made!
Once finished, I dot all the i’s and cross all the t’s and then trim all my end threads.
And then ta da! Just like that it’s paired with some lovely red Liberty London fabric, backed in white felt and ready to hang ❤️
This opening verse is from one of my favourite songs, Annie’s Song by John Denver. It was much loved by a very special lady and this special piece has been made for her daughter in memory of her ❤️
I can create any wording you’d like onto fabric. It can be made into something to hang on the wall as well as being framed if you’d prefer or I can stitch it onto a cushion or heart, or any shape of your choice. Just message me to enquire ☺️ xx
