I am often asked "what can I do with all the unmatched gemstones in jewellery I don't wear any more?" Bring them to my Newhaven Studio and we'll create something new, using a funky, 'Random' design layout. This could be a ring, pendant, bracelet or bangle. For several decades I wanted to visit Japan and have just returned from an epic 18 day adventure, perfectly organised by Penny Jenner ([email protected]). After a 13 1/2 hour flight to Tokyo I took an internal flight to Osaka for the first half of the trip. The main reasons for me going there were to extend my studies of Samurai sword making and decoration, to use the techniques in future jewellery designs, study Japanese formal gardens to help with a new landscaping project in part of my garden, and to savour Japanese culture, art, food, etc. I'll post more over the week or so, but here's a taster from the first couple of days
