The Community Book Pledge has been reignited by a donation from in Newmarket.
They have donated the bundle pictured and requested that it go to a nursery in Newmarket. I will be going live next Tuesday to let you know who has won the wonderful bundle of books.

Community Book Pledge📚

Are you a local business or do you know a local business that would love to support our local nurseries and pre-schools?

I am currently running a community book pledge to get some lovely books into little hands. This has all stemmed from the current drive to help children to brush their teeth and support them with their self care.

I am hoping to raise enough money to be able to donate a book bundle for every nursery and pre-school in and around Newmarket.

Running this book pledge means that we can help nurseries and pre-schools have access to new books without using their already very tight budgets.

We love the 'That's not my...' books in this house, they are read on repeat. So how can you make more of them and extend the reading of them? Here are some of the things we do...

Extending the reading with my 2.5 year old:

🐁 I ask where the mouse is and we discuss what it is wearing or what it is doing.

🌸 I ask what else can be found on the page, it's might be flowers or bees or butterflies. We then count them together and discuss what they look like.

🎨 We chat about the different colours we can see and what other things we can think of with that colour.

There are so many different ways to use and read these books. You don't just have to stick to the textures and text on the pages.
