Hi!

With Autumn now upon us, I'm going to spend this weekend going through all of the lovely donated wellies and will be announcing a few pop up Welly Banks in the local area - I can't take any more donations for now, but will appeal for specific sizes as soon as I've gone through everything I already have 🥰 xx

Morning all!

Huge apologies for being so quiet here, I was locked out of my messages for this page for a couple of weeks but managed to access them yesterday - I've replied to everyone and will be doing the final Welly drop of the year tomorrow so that I can focus on a few festive weeks with these guys 🎄🎄🎄

Thank you so much for supporting the Welly Bank - your donations have helped stop 73 pairs of wellies and 16 waterproofs from being discarded, and have kept lots of families playing outdoors in all weathers!

Donations are currently closed and I will be back in the new year.

I have been BLOWN AWAY by the support for the Welly Bank over the past couple of months - I'm sorry that I haven't updated the page much! I am now unable to accept any more wellies unless I appeal for specific sizes, but I still have some parents looking for all in one waterproof puddle suits and water proof trousers. Drop off points are:

• Portskewett and Sudbrook Recreation Hall, Fridays 10am - 12pm
• The Pantry, Chepstow
• 8 Park Court, Undy (just leave by door)
• My home in Llandevaud (PM for address)
• AutoWindscreens, Leeway Ind. Est, Newport
• Mamau Ffit (Deb) is happy to take donations in her classes too

As always just message with any requests, and remember you don't have to be in need to use the Welly Bank - this is as much about reusing and recycling as it is about keeping families playing outdoors in all weathers! ☔

The Little Pips Welly Bank will be popping up every Friday morning at The Little Pips Cuppa Club from 10am until 12pm at Portskewett & Sudbrook Recreation Hall!

Pop along and help yourself to whatever you need, or drop off any donations. When the weather is nice, I will leave everything outside. If not, then they will be in the hall on a table.

The Welly Bank is not just for families in need, it is also to encourage our local community to reuse and recycle before buying new - there are some great quality items to see you through our wonderful Welsh winter! If you have sent me a request, I will be going through these later ☔

The Little Pips Welly Bank has been busy distributing wellies and waterproofs in the community this week as the weather has taken a turn for the wetter ☔

Some have gone to a local childminder, others to a nursery, a few pairs to families, and this particular pair went off to a little girl tonight ready for some rainy weekend adventures!

I am hoping to pop up in Caldicot this week for anyone to come along and help themselves free of charge or drop off - there are some lovely coats and all in one puddlesuits as well as wellies in great condition!

I will keep you posted on my whereabouts, but do message in the meantime with whatever you need - remember, this is as much about encouraging families to reuse and recycle as it is to help out families in need! ☔☔☔

Well the rain has certainly arrived and the temperature is beginning to drop... these are the days the Welly Bank was made for!

☔ I've been busy sorting through all of your amazing donations, and my goodness have you donated some beautiful condition wellies and waterproofs - clothing should never be a barrier for outdoor play, and as a community we also need to be more conscious of the environment.

♻️ At The Welly Bank, our ethos is to promote the reusing and recycling of good conditioned items for all families, whilst also ensuring that families in need are able to access what they need.

☔ I will be 'popping up' in Caldicot once a fortnight so anyone can come along and take or swap what they need - keep an eye on the page to see when!

✉ You can also message the page at any time with the sizes and items you need, and I will check the Welly Bank - we currently have most sizes available, and everything is in great condition. Schools and nurseries are also very welcome to get in touch! I do work full time and have 4 children, so please be patient with replies.

☔ I know some of you are waiting for the Caldicot drop off point, so sorry for the delay I've been working a lot but I sort with TogetherWorks this week!

So, get those requests rolling in - let's stop so much going to landfill and keep families playing! x

Sorry I've been quiet, the Welly Bank has been busy already!

You can currently drop off at the following places:

☔ Chepstow - The Pantry

☔ Undy - 8 Park Court (just off Manor Chase)

☔ Newport - AutoWindscreens, Unit 11 Leeway Court, Leeway Industrial Estate

☔ Cwmbran - drop to Debbie Gliniany at her Mamau Ffit classes

☔ Caldicot will be the TogetherWorks hub as soon as the bin is set up - I will confirm this week!

Requests for sizes can be sent in via message or email [email protected] - I have lots of requests coming in for size 5 wellies in particular ☔☔☔

Remember, adult sizes are very much welcome too!

Thank you so much to everyone who has already donated to the Little Pips Welly Bank! I'm sorry I have been quiet, I have been busy making space and setting everything up ready to organise everything. Requests are already coming in, in particular for:

☔ Childs Size 5 wellies, raincoats and winter coats

☔ And small size wellies for toddlers

Over the next couple of days I will compile a list of drop off points and items needed - thank you SO much for the overwhelming support for this project! You are helping to keep families warm, dry, and playful ♡

Living in Wales, we see a LOT of rainy days! I try not to refer to the weather as 'bad' in front of my children, because I never want them to mentally write a day off and fail to see opportunity just because of our normal weather ☔

However, the right clothes are a must! And I have founded the Welly Bank for two reasons:

1. To ensure that all families have access to waterproof clothing so that they can play outdoors all year round, and

2. To stop so many used and discarded items items ending up in landfill.

Collections will go fully live in September and I will post a list of accessible drop off points shortly - if any businesses across Monmouthshire and Newport are happy to be drop off points please do let me know, and a huge thanks to those who have already come forward!
