🌿 SOME BUSINESSES START WITH A BUSINESS PLAN.

This one started with a love of candles.

A mother and daughter had an idea.

Then they did something that takes a fair bit of courage…

They took the leap and opened a little shop of their own.

That little idea became Nettle & Bark.

Tucked away in Beechwood Park, Newport, you'll find a shop filled with plants, homeware, gifts and local creations.

But here's the interesting part.

When people talk about Nettle & Bark, they don't just talk about what they bought.

They talk about the experience.

The friendly welcome.

The knowledge.

The people behind the counter.

The plants they couldn't resist taking home.

One customer described it as “Newport's very own tropical paradise.”

Another said they went along to a workshop and came home with more plants and “happy hearts.”

And someone else simply said they couldn't stop thinking about going back.

Those aren't the kinds of things you can put on a price tag.

They're the little things that turn a shop into somewhere people remember.

And that's exactly why we wanted to put Nettle & Bark in the spotlight.

Because behind every independent business is a story.

Sometimes it's a huge story.

Sometimes it's simply…

“We had an idea. We took a chance. And we built something we're proud of.”

And if you've never been…

perhaps this is your sign to discover a little local business you might otherwise have driven straight past.

Behind Nettle & Bark is mother and daughter who had a dream, took a leap and created a little shop of their own. 🤎🌿

It all started with a love of candles.

And two years later we have Nettle & Bark, nestled in the heart of Beechwood Park, the shop is filled with local creations, lovely homeware and seasonal plants.

What started as an idea has become a place they’re so proud to share with the people of Newport.

Thank you for supporting their little dream. 🤎
