Potstubielife Midwife who is unable to work due to chronic illness, created a shop to raise money for PoTs UK

I set up this small shop to raise money for PoTs UK,
I was a midwife for 8 years until my chronic illnesses took over and left me in hospital for 50 weeks. I am now home but have a jej tube for feeding and a peg for venting. I use a wheel chair part time, if I stand too long, I pass out due to Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome (PoTs)

eir web page as neither me or my family had ever heard of PoTs prior to my diagnosis, neither me or my family had ever heard of PoTs. I Love giving gifts and now I was lucky enough to be gifted a cricut machine for christmas, which enables me to personalise gifts to sell. Congratulations to two of my clients (now friends ❤️) who tied the knot on Friday.
They both looked beautiful in their dresses and make an amazing couple. We have been working together for months and was a pleasure to make all their signs, personalised hangers, champagne flutes, trainers and other little items. You were both a pleasure to work with.

I am sorry to have to post this, I never wanted to do this but unfortunately I have been let down multiple times now and am losing alot of money. I am doing this little business to raise money for charity and my prices are cheap as I am doing this as a hobby and not to become a millionaire.

From now on, if you would like to order anything, I am asking for the full cost upfront.

I have ordered specific colour vinyl, ribbons, etc and personalised items to then be let down and blocked by people.

It really upsets me as I am trying to be nice by letting people pay in instalments or put down deposits, or (stupidly) just trusting people and then I am left with items I cannot resell as they are personalised or different coloured items that most people won’t order.

I hope you all understand why I am doing this. I am sorry that a few inconsiderate people have made me loose my trust in people but if I continue as I have been I will be losing more money and being disabled and unable to work a full time job, I don’t have alot of money to lose on time wasters.

Thank you to all my amazing customers who have been great have come back multiple times for more items.

Another £50 donated to PoTSUK today

£150 in total raised since I started my little shop.

Thank you to everyone who has supported me, let’s hope in the future they can find a cure for this life changing condition.

This week I signed the papers to terminate my contract with the NHS as my job as a midwife. I am currently going through the retirement process due to my multiple chronic conditions I am no longer able to do the job I love and devoted 13 years of my life to (including 3 years training) 🤰🏼
I delivered hundreds of babies over the last 13 years and will miss my jobs a lot 😢

A lot of people (including doctors) don’t understand PoTS and although some people can lead perfectly normal lives with minimal symptoms, but for 1 in 4 it can be totally devastating and life changing. Although I have more conditions and PoTS is only one of many, I am hoping that by continuing to raise money and awareness about PoTS, others who are suffering will have better treatment then I have in the past, from both doctors and people who think they are trying to help, but unfortunately yoga will not fix the autonomic nervous system 🧘‍♀️ 😂

Thank you everyone for all your support over the last 9 months since setting up my Etsy shop. So far we have donated £100 to POTS UK and hoping to raise more in 2024. As you can see on my etsy page I have 5 star rating and am a verified star seller. Also the next order will be my 150th sale, therefore whoever is my next sale, will get extra goodies along with their purchase.

So I am now making bespoke bridal converse trainers. Perfect for a bride that wants comfort on her wedding day or for her to change into in the evening.

Here is an example of what I can do but I am very flexible and happy to work with you to make the perfect pair or shoes.

In the last few pictures you will see I added a blue rhinestone in the middle of the logo,and you will also see a sixpence in the shoe. This then gives you your something blue and all bridal shoes will come with a lucky sixpence 🙂

If you are interested in this pair, they are £80 with free P and P. They are a UK size 5.5. They are genuine converse and will come in the original box. The shoes cost me £55 so I am only charging £25 for the personalisation which takes alot of time as these are hand personalised and I add every single rhinestone individually, so it takes a while to make 🙂
