I have a thing about nylon zip/cable ties on custom bikes,maybe I'm a bit fussy but they bug me big time.
There are zero,as in none "zip ties"
All wiring,cables and hoses on this build are either run through frame and handlebars or P-clipped into place.
The custom wiring harness on this build is fully coded to factory colours,includes turn signals and warning lights,and all electrical components are easily accessible with the Dynatek coil and ignition module in the space the original oil tank would be mounted,other components mount under each side panel on modified FXR plates except the micro Joost flasher/load equaliser relay which lives in the headlamp.
All lighting is led,handlebar switchgear is OEM style and a simple, removable race type on/off switch takes the place of a key.
Starter and earth cables are custom length 4 gauge 36 strand to maximize current flow.

The FXR's use an under the seat oil tank and in order to fit the Twin Cam "touring" powertrain with its oil tank under the transmission into the FXR frame, both lower cross members had to be removed.
The front cross member is where the FXR right side footrest/brake pedal assembly and side stand are normally fitted,the V+H 2-1 meant to fit a tourer then provided another issue.. how to mount the footpeg and brake pedal.
So it went like this...
Remove the original master cylinder mount,cut one side off some steel box section,then shape the 3 sided piece to fit nicely on the frame tube side,drill two holes and weld captive nuts to the inside,weld to frame.
Fabricate a mount for the brake pedal,roughed it out in 12mm thick alloy plate,counterbore mount holes to fit the frame,drill a big hole in it to accept the alloy tube which was reamed by hand to accept a shifter shaft,clearance the backside for brake rod clevis weld the tube in, then shape to look nice.
The shift lever,shaft and (modified) inner lever are FLH shifter parts,the shaft is drilled and tapped M8 at the outer end and its all held in place by the stud mount footrest...
Fabricate a steel bracket to carry the GSXR 600 master cylinder,this fits to the transmission and also serves as a mount for the hidden exhaust "muffler" rose jointed stabiliser..
Now.. this might sound quite easy but that exhaust is a super close fit and clearances are very tight and I wanted to the ability to remove the master cylinder and the brake pedal assembly without exhaust removal and both do :)
The left side was less of a challenge, I used an FXR mount,cut it up a bit,added a little bit of height with an M8 stud to mount the footpeg then weld a "modified" 7/8",half inch drive socket to accept the plug in side stand,which happens to be a 7" long 1/2" drive extension bar,which when not in use,clips to the frame underneath the left hand side panel.

Part 1
This started off as a "use what I have" project,the idea to be,not to spend much money and matt black maracas it.
I had an early FXR frame,some Twin cam FLH engine and transmission cases,and years of hording new and used parts on the shelf...
49mm FXDF forks,FXDB yokes,some as new Hagon Nitros,FLH Brembo calipers, It was the rear Brembo started it all...
It didn't take long to escalate....
Along the way,a few people were kind enough to assist me complete the bike to my satisfaction and I'll mention them as the story unfolds...

Meanwhile...
New parts orders are turning around in approx 3-4 days on average unless its in stock then it ships same day
Used parts ship either same day or within 2-3 days

FB has put some restrictions on my page,
Their "technology" detected something that does not comply with community standards,this clever "technology" also does not indicate what or why the restrictions have been imposed,so I have no idea how to rectify it.
My only thoughts are the posts before Xmas showing the alcoholic beverages my lovely customers sent maybe breached the content standards so I've removed them
