Kyanite is known for its raw, natural beauty, with each stone varying in colour, shape and texture. Its shifting shades of blue/green reflect the changing tones of the sea, making every piece completely unique. I leave each shard in its natural form, allowing the stone’s character to shape the finished jewellery.

The Cornish sea has always been the inspiration behind my work, but I wanted to capture it through colour, texture and movement.

I chose raw kyanite for its shifting blues and greens, then shaped the textured metal to echo waves crashing against the Cornish cliffs.

What began as an idea at my workbench has become the collection you return to time and time again, with every piece still made by hand here in Cornwall.

What does kyanite remind you of?

The colour was what first drew me in. The natural blues and greens instantly reminded me of the changing moods of the sea, which felt perfect for a collection inspired by the Cornish coast.

Kyanite is also often linked with calm and balance, which I loved even more and because every piece of the crystal is slightly different, no two finished pieces ever feel quite the same.

I also love how completely different it looks depending on the metal. Against silver it feels cool and ocean like, while gold brings out so much warmth and contrast.

Sea inspired jewellery, just not in the way you might expect 🌊

Living in Cornwall, the sea naturally finds its way into so much of what I make. I melt metal into cuttlefish bones I collect from Cornish beaches, capturing the incredible natural texture inside them, and I work with raw kyanite because its colours remind me of the ever changing moods of the sea.

It has taken me years to refine the Kyanite Collection into what it is today. So many different versions, experiments and changes along the way, until it finally felt right. Seeing how much love this collection is getting now makes all of that time completely worth it. Each piece of jewellery is still made by hand, one by one, inspired by the ever changing colours and moods of the sea 🌊

The textures are inspired by white water meeting the shore. The raw kyanite reflects the changing colours of the sea, from calm blue mornings to darker stormy tides.

Every piece is handmade in Cornwall from recycled precious metals, created to feel like carrying a little piece of the coast with you.
