Ok I can’t wait one more day, the Autumn wreath is up!

I’ve stocked up on cosy candles, walked through countless leaves, eaten my body weight in cake washed down with coffee and my long sleeve pyjamas are out.

It’s happening, who’s in and what are your Autumn plans to be cosy? 🍂

Wreath is THE SUFFOLK NEST Ashlee Jane isn’t she a beauty 🤎

A glimpse back to before it all became it little too hot and life decided to test my resilience, we were invited to Milly’s Bistro for a gorgeous meal out on their terrace ☀️

The sun was shining the perfect amount, the drinks were refreshing and tasty and the food cooked to perfection. An absolutely dreamy evening at one of my favourite places 🤎

Dear July,

You were such a wonderful month in so many ways, but really quite the rollercoaster. Whilst I’m grateful for the highs, next year could you be a bit more balanced?

Your faithful if not slightly exhausted friend…

Paula

We’re on the 9th millionth day of Summer. The lawn is beyond frazzled and the plants are desperately soaking up every drop of water they’re offered. My usual relaxing and enjoyment in the garden has been halted a couple of weeks back due to extreme heat crossed with blinding sun and the unshakable feeling that it’s missing a short stout piggy snout 🤔

There’s no doubt it’s been an odd few weeks, but I really don’t like to wish away any time and I’m acutely aware that these hazy warm days won’t be around for much longer either. I’m looking for ways to enjoy our little back yard some more before this season ends, I think I’ll have a little tidy up and move around tomorrow.

In the meantime I’ve been looking at the windows and doors and thinking hmmm ok 🤔but could they be better?

Not like me I know…

The front has had a glow up, and gosh did it need it!

I had no idea how to go about styling the tiny slice of a new build garden🤔 but I figured it was possible so with a bit of inspiration we set about ripping out what the builder had kindly left us with (we were never sure if they were plants or weeds to be honest 🤷🏻‍♀️).

It may not look much but we needed a skip! Out with the unidentifiable greenery and in with my mini cottage garden scheme.

Fast forward 8 weeks and we’ve got some growth and blooms, my personal favourite is this Verbena it’s an absolute stunner and beautiful even on its own 💜

At this stage I feel as though I work for the Cornwall tourist board, but quite frankly I don’t care!

Here are some snippets of our recent trip, I didn’t go wild with pictures this time as I wanted to switch off and enjoy the moment. But I can’t not share my tops picks 🤎

For those asking the hotel is and it was our 3rd visit, absolutely recommend

First up is Newquay Habour, a 5 minute walk from the centre of town it’s beautiful and served by our favourite restaurant the which is a street food vibe

Next is the hotel which has its own beach, restaurant and cafe. When the tide is out you can walk along the beach into town, it’s perfect. Check out the rooms 🥰 we stayed in a Colonial sea view room, the beds are King size and incredibly comfortable

Their Restaurant is unreal and if you are staying elsewhere in Newquay you can just go there to eat, booking is advised it’s super busy at weekends

One of the many coastal walks in Newquay, this one is in town. I love that you can go shopping (there’s some great clothes shops there!) grab and bite to eat and have a coastal walk all in one day!

Finally, the Newquay sunsets especially viewed from Tolcarne or Fistral beach are stunning. If you are going to Fistral beach there’s also several restaurants and bars there plus the cutest shop I can never resist it

I have so much more of Cornwall to share however I’ll start here as I only have 3 minutes to spare!

We’ve made our June trip to Newquay an annual event, and I’m bloody delighted. It’s our favourite spot and feels like a home from home. Here’s the harbour, more to come!

Also, sorry but how cute is my hairclip 🥰

Some before and afters of the gaff, not bad for 18 months in. I think I’m most proud of the garden, probably the most I’ve managed to achieve in this space of time before. How we did it?

🌱 Brought plants and cuttings from the old house
🌱 Put raised beds in as soon as we moved
🌱 Took cuttings to double the plants
🌱 Fed them as often as possible
🌱 Grew plants from seeds for the first time
🌱 Let everything that can, self seed (double the plants!)

Sadly the painting doesn’t do itself, neither does the woodwork but a girl can hope! 😂

Also my first actual greenhouse guys 🥰 definitely more to come on that

Never fails…

I mean, I might on occasion! But at least I will have tried and that’s important to me. I try to apply this to everything, life’s for living right and you never know if you don’t try 🌟

Don’t be afraid of new beginnings I say, and everytime I’ve made a jump I’ve gotten a little braver and felt a bit more me. The brave won’t live forever but the cautious don’t live at all

Also, can we take a minute for cracking shots of my gorgeous flowers 🥰 he’s multi talented you know 😌

Feels like a milestone 😂

In reality I’ve committed to some cushions, and infact the rooms not even finished 🫠 the coving still needs to go up. I’ve gotten to the point where I’m showing you incremental progress, if nothing else but to make myself feel better 😂

Ah it’s fine anyway isn’t it, as we all know what happens once I’ve finished all the rooms…
