Every year there is a single day where the collective of Clemo customers suddenly start talking about Christmas. 🎄 Yesterday was that day.

No mention of the holiday season until Saturday of this week when 4 different customers all spoke of CHRISTMAS. Some with daunt in their voices, others with glee. 😊

Clemo is a tiny shop and we need to sell our spooky books first but there are signs that Christmas is coming if you look hard enough… 🎅🏼

Come one and all! Join us on Wednesday 28 October, 7pm at The Pagan Arms for Beasts, Folk and Strange Lands. ✨

Celebrate the days leading up to Halloween with an evening of discussion around all things weird, whimsical and wise in Cornwall and beyond. 🌊

𝐌𝐚𝐭𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐰 𝐒𝐡𝐚𝐰 of Stone Club will be chairing an event that sees Lally MacBeth (The Lost Folk & Stone Club), .a.thompson (Cornish Bestiary) and Ben Smith (Strange Cartographies) in conversation for a Samhain time evening of fun.

We’ll have a selection of books available to purchase on the evening and The Pagan Arms will have a selection of booze and non-alcoholic drinks available to enjoy. 🍻

Tickets are already selling fast! Purchase yours on Clemo Books website and bring the confirmation email with you on the evening, no need to collect in store beforehand.

VVV proud to be stocking the new edition of Glittering a Turd: Finding joy (when it’s all gone t**s up) by Kris Hallenga . She’s front facing in the bookshop as she deserves 💅👏

The updated edition with new material by , in memory of her sister Kris, is honest, moving and funny. Kylie Minogue said it was ‘inspirational, relatable and wonderful’ 🪩

Kris’s name and Coppafeel is up on the wall in Clemo Books as she supported our Crowdfunder campaign. She was also the first author I ever had to sign books and I was quite nervous and of course she immediately put me at ease. 💕

We know how cherished she was in this lovely little town so have stocked up but if you’d like to reserve one please pop us a message. 🌊

Hi! A little note to say Clemo Books will be closed Monday - Wednesday this week as we’re taking a post summer break. 📚

We’ll be back open on Thursday 24 September and from then on we’ll be open 6 days a week, closed on Mondays (until gifting szn begins!)

Clemo Books had its best summer so far - thank you so much to everyone who has supported us this season. To see holiday makers return year after year is wonderful, and locals popping in early doors to avoid the rush is so appreciated! 🌞

Each purchase with an independent like Clemo Books is really important and I think lots of shopkeepers on Newquay’s high street will agree how grateful we are you choose to shop with individual people who pay their taxes and contribute to the community.

LOOOOK at this beautiful new book! 🌊Congratulations to local author Becca Hall illustration who celebrated publishing her new book Ocean Voyagers last week - a glorious guide to sea creatures and their migrations through the seas. 🐋

A little one has just picked up a copy for himself and his friend whose birthday is it this weekend! 🥹
