It’s happened a few times over the summer. One day someone took a picture of the bookshelves in Clemo Books, asked ChatGPT what it would recommend, and then the AI ‘hallucinated’ and made up an imaginary title on the shelves and we all stood there like lemmings looking for a book I knew didn’t exist. 📚

STORYFEST NEWQUAY CONTINUES THIS WEEK! ✨ We took a little break because of festival madness and now we’re back with 2 more events this week and next. 📚

Free tickets are online now for Sarah Tagholm at Doorstep Green in Treloggan on Thursday 13 August (it’s the green space and play park next to and behind Lidl in Newquay)🌱

Plus Tom Palmer on Friday morning this week at Newquay Orchard on the community terraces. There will be reading and a quiz! 🐢

StoryFest Newquay kicked off last week! .rogers.author taught a very engaging and rather calming creative writing workshop on the mezzanine in ✍️ Thanks to all of the families who came along, listened to snippets from Scamp Saltbrace and the Tidal Clock and shared their work - all amazing ideas! StoryFest is taking a little break over Boardmasters and then we’ll be back at it with on Thursday 14 August.

🪩 Just a gal who thought free festival tickets would be cool - turned into something amazing! 💅 Thanks to for having us onsite again. The talks and chef cookbook signings this team organise are unreal. 📚

Creating a bookshop tent plus running a bookshop on Newquay’s high street as the summer holidays kick off takes a special kind of madness. Knowing how many books to order, what extra stock to bring, last minute surprises - it’s fun but crazy! Thanks to my family who rallied around to help me and who held down the fort on Bank Street. 🐢

We were running on pints and for a while there - back to the bookshop life now though and how nice it is to be here. 💕

StoryFest Newquay starts this week! 📚

Wyl Menmuir kicks off the month-long celebration on Thursday at 10:30am outside the bookshop. We’ll gather and embark on an outdoor creative writing workshop, ideal for young adults aged 13 - 16. We’ll provide pens and notebooks, just wear sensible shoes. 🌊

You’ll get a free copy of one of Wyl’s books to take home with you. His recently completed trilogy is inspired by nature and the people who spend time in it. Coast, woodland and stones - take your pick! Tickets online now for 13 - 16 year olds! 📚
rogers.author is on Friday 10:30am at Newquay Library this week, perfect for budding writers aged 8 - 12. Settle in for a creative writing workshop with the award winning children’s author in an environment that’s bound to inspire. ✨

Hi all, PLEASE SHARE there are free events for children aged 3 - 16 starting on Thursday 30 July - Tuesday 25 August! Get your free tickets on our website or use the sign up sheet at Newquay Library. These events are free because we won a grant from Penguin books to host free author events for families to help them during the school holidays which can be a financially difficult time - all events are free and all children attending get a free book from the author leading the session. ☺️ Hope you can share and get involved! https://clemobooks.co.uk/storyfest-newquay-2026/
