Day 46 of Drawing Geometry.
I had seen the Sri Yantra many times and decided that it was not too challenging and that I wanted to draw one.
Take 1
Somewhere I read that I needed to divide a circle into 48 equal parts to be able to then draw on those divisions. 🤔 Hmm...nope!
Take 2
I then read a bit more and found some inspiration in Zac Korvin's tutorial and video. I learned a bit more...but still nope!
Take 3
I was still trying to guess and my design was not accurate.

After all the trying, I still made a silly mistake 🤭 and covered it up, literally!!

I finally got there but I discovered that mathematically constructing a Sri Yantra is challenging. Lines and angles need to meet exactly at the Bindu. (Which I also learned is the dot at the centre of the Sri Yantra design.
Curious details about the Sri Yantra:
- Translates to 'sacred instrument ' in Sanskrit
- Represents spiritual evolution and abundance
- Used in meditation to quiet the mind and align internal energy.
- It is perfectly symmetrical vertically, left and right sides are mirrored but it is not the same horizontally.
- It is tradition to keep flat or horizontal on an altar instead of hung vertically on a wall.
As I had such a hard day 46, trying to work out angles and lines, I decided that day 47, I was going to have a little fun with some designs I had tried before using Samira Mian tutorials.

Day 45 of Drawing Geometry.

Today I felt like a circle and curve kind of day. I love the balance of the Ying and Yang. Black and white, what you lack I complete and vice versa.
The Triskelion throws me a bit, as it is less balanced but still beautiful and when I see it, I usually go to gardening quotes I have heard in the past, "if in doubt, plant three" it works. So, although it is not side by side "balance" it works.
