Here are our tips for keeping your natural tree fresh and fragrant throughout the festive season.
Top Tips
🌲 Keep your tree outside until you are ready to decorate it…don’t forget to keep it watered.
🌲A tree absorbs water better from a fresh cut trunk, choose a freshly cut tree or remove 1/2″ from the base of the trunk before bringing your tree inside.
🌲Position your tree away from direct heat.
🌲Whether you choose a cut or pot grown tree, make sure you keep your it well watered.

We recommend:

❌ You don't need to add any sugar, fizzy drinks, bleach, or other additives - just plain water, the same as you would for cut flowers or house plants.

The Nordmann Fir is currently the number one favourite Christmas Tree. It has excellent needle-keeping properties and lovely glossy dark green foliage. The needles are broad and soft, so perfect for anyone – particularly pets and young children – who might not like getting spiked!

These are slower-growing trees, taking about 8 years to reach a size of 6ft (2.1m), which accounts for their higher price. But on the plus side, you do get a tree that will last longer indoors: up to 5 weeks before the needles begin to lose their gloss and lustre.
It is not absolutely necessary to stand the trees in water to keep them fresh, although it does help. Perhaps the best thing you can do is keep them cool, and well away from heat sources like radiators and underfloor heating.
