On Thursday, members of our Marketing & Design team attended the conference, hosted by Newry Chamber at the Canal Court Hotel & Spa.

As always, this proved to be an extremely insightful event, packed with great talks and inspiring ideas to bring back to the office. In such a fast-moving industry, the emphasis this year was very much on utilising AI to your advantage and streamlining time-consuming, monotonous tasks.

Recently, we were delighted to welcome six students from the Bolster Community to O'Reillys for a six-week work placement as part of An Droichead ("The Bridge") programme.

Delivered in partnership with St Paul's High School, the programme supports young adults with Special Educational Needs (SEN) as they develop valuable life skills, gain OCN qualifications, and prepare for future opportunities.

During their placement, the students gained hands-on experience and an insight into the day-to-day operations of our business. We were also proud to attend their Graduation Ceremony last week, celebrating all their hard work and achievements.

Congratulations to the graduates - we wish you every success for the future! 🎓👏

We were delighted to welcome Kerrie from Strike Back Self Defence Newry to our office this morning for an empowering self-defence session with our female colleagues.

The informative workshop focused on boundary setting, situational awareness and effective response strategies. Participants also learned practical self-defence techniques designed to help them feel safer, more prepared and more confident in everyday situations.

Providing opportunities like this is just one of the ways we invest in the wellbeing and development of our colleagues here at O’Reillys. A huge thank you to Kerrie for delivering such an engaging and informative session. 💪🌟

We’re proud to celebrate the achievements of two members of the O’Reillys team, Philip Shiells, our Transport & Logistics Manager, and Arron Potts, our Head of Development, who have successfully completed the Family Business Management Mini MBA programme at Ulster University. 🎓

Throughout the programme, Philip and Arron explored key areas including leadership, strategy, governance and innovation, gaining valuable insights into the opportunities and challenges facing family-owned businesses today.

At O’Reillys, we genuinely believe in supporting lifelong learning and encouraging our people to continue developing both personally and professionally. Investing in our team helps strengthen our business and ensures we continue to grow for the future.

Today is a bittersweet day as we say goodbye to a true O’Reillys legend - Paul Keenan.

Known as Picker No. 22 from the very beginning, Paul has been a valued member of the O’Reillys family for an incredible 22 years. After more than two decades of hard work, dedication, and commitment, he’s now saying farewell to our warehouse aisles.

Everyone at O’Reillys would like to thank Paul for his outstanding contribution over the years and wish him a very happy, healthy, and well-deserved retirement. Enjoy every minute, Paul - you’ve certainly earned it! 🎉👏
