From individual properties to multi-megawatt systems, the same principle applies: build the power system around what the site actually needs.
Our distributed Victron microgrid approach allows solar, battery storage and inverter capacity to be added in stages and connected through a 3-phase AC microgrid. A system can start small and grow as demand increases — from a single home or commercial building through to a housing development or major industrial site.
It can also solve the problem of a limited grid connection. If the grid can only supply, for example, 100 kW but the site occasionally needs 200 kW, the battery and inverter system can provide the additional power while keeping the grid import within its limit. This can allow much larger equipment, machinery, EV charging or other high-demand loads to operate without necessarily having to increase the grid connection.
It also provides greater resilience. Because generation, storage and inverter capacity can be distributed around the site, a fault in one part of the system does not necessarily take everything down. Other sections can continue operating, reducing the impact of a failure and helping maintain power to critical loads.
The result is a power solution that can be:
