Today. Social supermarket.

We have lots of fresh fruit and veg coming in today along with breads and both oat and fresh milk. A few ready meals and pizzas. Plus many more items.

We can offer a minimum of 10 items for the suggested donation of £4.50.

We are in need of more volunteers and if your keen to prevent food waste whilst providing affordable food to the community please pop in to see what we do.

This week we had loads of fresh veg.....what do do with it... the photo gives you an idea.

Roasted sweet peppers, boiled and buttered sweetcorn plus stuffed roasted courgettes.

The courgette ( scrape out seeds) were filled with chopped cherry tomatoes, pesto ( or basil leaves), a few capers and olive oil. Pop some moserella on top and bake for 15 to 20 mins. Delicious.

This is for EVERYONE in the Bovey Tracey and Heathfield area. Even if you do not feel you need Affordable foods please consider donating to us for a bag of shopping as this ensures this project remains viable for those that do.

We could do with more volunteers too. Please pop in if you wish to help even if its only occasionally.

Its Social Supermarket day

We have masses of fresh veg arriving today. Potatoes 🥔 lettuce 🥬 peppers🫑🌶 courgettes and sweetcorn along with many other food items.

Min of 10 items ( note with veg we don't count one potato as one item....you pick up a good serving for a few days)

Meal suggestions include veg bakes, soups and for use on a bbq. Peppers in particular are delicious on a bbq.

Volunteers needed.

If you feel providing affordable food for your community whilst preventing food waste is an issue you wish to support please consider becoming a volunteer with us. Either as a weekly regular volunteer or as an adhoc volunteer. Please pop along to our weekly shop session to see what we do.

We are particularly looking for volunteers to join our reserve list who we can call upon when our regular volunteers are unavailable.

Our volunteering time is 3pm until 5pm on tuesday afternoons. Some volunteers can only do an hour. 3pm to 4pm covers our set up and serve time. 4pm to 5pm covers the remainder of our serve time plus clearing up.

If you feel you wish to become a volunteer please pop in for a chat. We also have a reserve volunteer list for some who only wish to help occasionally so it doesn't have to be a weekly commitment.
