📢 Exciting changes coming to Market Square

We’re about to begin the next chapter of the Market Square project in Newton Abbot: the repaving works.

This transformation will enhance the space for everyone, and we’ve carefully planned the works to minimise disruption to local businesses.

To keep things running smoothly, the works will be carried out in seven carefully phased sections starting the week commencing 11 August. Some works will take place during the day, while others will be scheduled outside of normal trading hours to reduce impact.

Importantly, any work directly outside shopfronts will happen outside of business hours. Our contractor is committed to maintaining clear access for both customers and retailers throughout the project.

We’ll begin with the area opposite the Market Hall and gradually move into the square. This approach allows us to open completed sections of Phase One as soon as they’re ready, keeping disruption to a minimum.

The new granite paving will match the surface already in place under the covered walkway.

Work on the new Market Hall in Newton Abbot is moving full steam ahead.

All external and internal demolition has now been successfully completed, clearing the way for the next transformative phase of the project.

Up next, we’re turning our attention to the building’s external façade — this includes key structural enhancements and the installation of new paving that will begin to shape the hall’s fresh, modern identity. These changes will start to bring the vision for the space to life from the outside in.

Inside, the refurbishment is just beginning, and already we’re catching glimpses of the hall’s incredible potential. The emerging layout hints at a vibrant, multi-functional destination combining retail, dining, bar, and entertainment experiences under one roof.

We’re on track for opening in Spring 2026, and we'll share more details about the exciting plans for Market Hall in the coming months.

We are here 😍😍😍We are missing some of our regular customers. If you don't know where the old post office building is located in the Market Square, it is on the corner of the squire by the spiral stair case and in-between Subway café and the old Uggy Uggy pasty shop.
