Sometimes in the busyness of life we forget that life is beautiful and there for us to live it and enjoy it. We are lucky enough to live near beautiful Dartmoor and now the heat has left us for a little while we were able to get back on the moors to do some exploring. And we found some treasure!! We left it where it was just in case it was precious to someone or left there for a reason unknown to us.

Reconnecting with nature is key to my creativity. And my sanity come to think of it! Honey was so also happy to be back there, she didn’t want to leave!

‘Happy birthday to me 🎶’ It’s my lovely hubby’s birthday today. He started playing my guitar this past year and is enjoying the journey. I love that he is showing up for it and that he is not worried about the outcome but committed to the process of the joy of learning and exploration. His pressie today is a lovely green guitar strap we chose together, so he can rock it standing up 🥰.

Babe, you’re my rock and I love you! 😘

Farewell Mr Peacock. Sadly our trusty Vauxhall has now moved on in life. We’re not sure if he’s got a second chance at being on the road again or going to pastures new in other ways. We got Mr Peacock exactly 12 years ago and he’s gone on many adventures with us. It always felt like a trusted friend and I am sad to see him go. But he had a tough past 12 months and on many occasions he let me know it was time to let him go 😢.

Farewell Mr Peacock and thanks for keeping us safe over the years.

Finally I made it a priority to put my cute and colourful mugs on a physical shelf in a shop! They deserve to be seen by the public.

I am very grateful to Keepsy Box for giving me a space in their much sought after gift shop. The variety of products are made by local Devon-based makers and artists and they make fantastic gifts!

Find us in Union Street in Newton Abbot! And once you’ve been you’ll want to tell your friends about it too!

This is Big Jam! I loved creating this commission for my lovely coaching friend David who has been a supporter of my work for many years, before I even became a doodle artist and wrote about the subject of contribution, which ultimately led me to where I am today.

David wanted a memento of an international leadership group he had been a part of for the last two years. The group met up in Brixham, during pirate week, not too far from me and he was due to travel over from Canada but sadly was unable to make it. Instead he asked me if I would be willing to meet up with them and create a doodle illustration to mark the occasion.

In the end he asked me to have all of the members of the group depicted in the picture, 12 in total, which stretched me creatively, I can tell you. I did some procrastinating as I let the idea simmer and then got to work. This is the end result and thankfully David was extremely happy with it. Photo 2 is him holding it proudly in his ‘never quit’ tshirt, which I think is inadvertently a little nod to me.

For the locals, I hope you recognise some of Brixham in the picture.

I love getting these commissions where I get full trust from my client. They stretch me creatively and allow for something fun and fulfilling to emerge.

There is another very exciting commission I can’t wait to share with you but I am waiting for it to be printed before I am able to. Watch this space.

It was wonderful to be able to go to Dartmoor today and not worry about Honey getting too warm. After our walk we were gifted a visit by these beauties!

Always such an inspiring place for me. I feel so lucky to live so close to so much beauty.

Oh my goodness. It definitely feels like the hottest day ever here in Devon. I managed an early morning walk but there’ll be no afternoon or evening evening walk for our Honeybun.

We’ve got the fan going and kept the curtains and doors closed and it’s bearable. It would have been a lovely idea to go to the beach together but we couldn’t leave Honey unsupervised today.

Today’s doodle is one from last year when we obviously went through a similar heatwave.

Another couple of days of this and we’re out the other end. Phew 😰 🫠

I really loved meeting Catherine Clawson at UK 🐕 last weekend. She was there to talk about her book Buddy and Tilda. The book teaches young children (and adults!) to safely interact with our furbabies so they can have a positive relationship with them. Sadly in her role as an NHS manager, she’s seen too many instances where there has been a communication breakdown between a dog and their little humans resulting in a hospital visit. It inspired her to write this book.

The character Buddy is based on the real Buddy the Bull Lurcher, a lovable bouncy boy. I really enjoyed meeting him too!
