A breaker that keeps tripping, no matter how you reset it.

Sockets that feel warm, or simply stop working.

A burning smell near an outlet, never something to ignore.

Lewis took a chance. It paid off.

At HomeRewire, we have a simple motto.

Work hard for us, and we’ll work hard for you.

We wanted to take a minute to recognise one of our guys as he finishes up today for a very well deserved holiday ☀️

Lewis was working for a local rewiring company in Ayrshire. During his apprenticeship he took a chance and made the move to HomeRewire.

He came in, worked hard, knuckled down and spent time alongside one of our senior teams learning the ropes.

His progression was seriously impressive.

Within a year of becoming time served, Lewis was running his own rewire team.

Today, that team is flying.

62 rewires completed already this year while maintaining a 5-star customer rating throughout.

A great example for any young electrician coming through the trade of what can happen when you’re willing to work hard, learn and take your opportunities.

EV Charger, Done Properly ⚡️

Kamran got in touch for a home EV charger installation, and the whole process ran smoothly from start to finish.

A site survey came first, talking through the options before anything was agreed.

Nick carried out the install, running a tricky cable from the front of the house to the back, neatly hidden under gravel and slabs.

He tested everything, helped set up the app and explained it all before leaving.

Punctual, tidy and easy to deal with throughout, exactly how it should be.

Signs Your House Needs A Rewire ⚡️

Wiring over 25 to 30 years old is the biggest warning sign.

Lights flickering or circuits tripping again and again should not be ignored.

An old fuse board with no RCD protection is another clear sign.

Relying on extension leads because there are not enough sockets is a sign too.

A full rewire replaces everything, new cables, new consumer unit, updated smoke alarms and full certification.

Most jobs are completed in just 1 to 2 days, fully tested and NICEIC certified.

First Fix Or Second Fix? ⚡️

Two stages of every rewire, and each one means something different.

First fix happens before the walls go up, cables run through studwork and floors, nothing connected yet.

Second fix happens after plastering, sockets, switches and the consumer unit all go in and get tested.

You cannot skip the order, plaster needs cables in first, sockets need a finished wall to sit on.

Understanding the two stages makes sense of any quote you are given.
