McKie's McKie's is a wee shop in Newton Stewart previously called Laura's.

Sisters Jean and Heather bought the business with the help of mum, Anne McKie, allowing Laura to enjoy her retirement from February 2026.

This is a photo of my big brother andJean's wee brother, Bruce Mckie who we lost in 2013. One o his absolute fav times o the year was always Halloween so we will be giving it a go in the shop.

Starting smallish this year we will be selling some facepaints, masks, blood, etc and some bits and pieces of decorations, so keep a wee eye on our window as you pass for some spooky goings on over the next wee while!!!

I love Halloween myself and try to do it at home every year so looking forward to some spooky fun and games.

Sadly we have had to abandon our stall at Wigtown Show due to almost being blown away!!!! Firstly we couldn't set up the way we wanted to after the wind ripped our backing off so no stands on the tables or stacking anything up then, unfortunately, the area we were setup in became a bit of a wind tunnel and after a short time it became too dangerous to carry on, sorry folks xx

Jean will be opening McKie's shop tomorrow for anyone not heading to Wigtown Show but will be closing up around 4pm to help pack up the stall and deliver stock back to the shop so pop in and keep Jean busy for the day!!
Meanwhile Heather will be at the show with a variety of toys and gifts from the shop. See you soon ###

THIS WEDNESDAY Wigtown Show!!!!!

We are so excited to be doing our first outdoor trade stall as McKie's at the Wigtown Show field.

Come along for a range of toys and gifts and Heather's Galloway In Pencil artwork (pictured).

Heather has joined the craft marquee for the last 9 years so we decided to go all in this year and take the shop to the show!!!

Wee bit o drama coming into the shop this morning!! Water leaking from the ceiling!!!

Female birthday cards have been removed as a precaution as we lost some of them, they are in tubs on the floor so please ask if there is something you're looking for and we will help you find it. Hopefully get it fixed asap.
