Avalon A30C — The Guitar for Every Song

Some guitars find their place in a particular style of music. Others seem to belong everywhere.

The Avalon A30C is one of those guitars.

With its auditorium body shape, cutaway design and Indian Rosewood back and sides, the A30C offers an exceptionally versatile combination of comfort, projection and tonal character. It has the presence to handle full, confident strumming, while retaining the sensitivity and balance needed for fingerstyle playing.

It is equally at home with folk, acoustic pop, country, blues, singer-songwriter music or simply playing at home for the joy of it.

That versatility is a big part of why the A30C has become such a popular model within the Avalon range. Its auditorium size sits comfortably in the hands, while the cutaway provides easy access to the upper frets when the music takes you there.

As with every Avalon, the goal is not simply to build a beautiful guitar, but to create an instrument that encourages you to play — responsive, expressive and ready to follow wherever your music takes you.

Avalon Guitars at Guitar Summit 2026 — Mannheim

This September, the story of Avalon Guitars travels to Mannheim, Germany, as we join the international guitar community at Guitar Summit, taking place from 25–27 September.

For over two decades, Avalon has been building exceptional acoustic guitars in Ireland — bringing together carefully selected tonewoods, meticulous craftsmanship and a deep respect for the art of guitar making.

At Booth 383, in the Acoustic Area, we’ll be presenting a selection of Avalon instruments, each with its own character, voice and story. From the beauty of the woods to the smallest details of construction, these are guitars made to be experienced in the hands and heard in the room.

We’re also delighted to be sharing the booth with G7th Capos, whose approach to quality, design and innovation perfectly complements the Avalon philosophy.

Guitar Summit is a wonderful opportunity to meet players, musicians, dealers and fellow guitar enthusiasts from across the world — and to share what makes Avalon different.

If you're attending Mannheim, come and spend some time with us at Booth 383.

Come for the guitars. Stay for the conversation. Discover the sound of Irish craftsmanship.

Avalon Guitars — Irish Craftsmanship, Made to Inspire

For over two decades, Avalon has been creating guitars in Ireland with a simple belief: that a great instrument should be as inspiring to hold as it is to play.

From our workshop in Northern Ireland, we bring together carefully selected tonewoods, traditional craftsmanship and modern precision to create instruments with their own character and voice.

Every guitar is built by people who understand that the smallest details matter — from the selection of the timber to the final set-up.

Being Irish-made is at the heart of Avalon. It gives us the freedom to take our time, to experiment, and to build guitars with a level of individuality that is increasingly rare in a world of mass production.

We believe the result speaks for itself.

Avalon guitars are made for players who want something different. Something with soul. Something they can connect with — an instrument that can become part of their musical journey for years to come.

And now, we want to share that story with more musicians around the world.
We are actively looking to build relationships with select guitar dealers and specialist retailers internationally who share our passion for exceptional acoustic instruments and understand the value of genuine craftsmanship.

If you are a dealer looking for something distinctive to bring to your customers, we'd love to talk.

Precision. Patience. Mastery.

Every Avalon guitar is shaped by the hands of master luthiers, where traditional craftsmanship meets meticulous precision.

From the selection of each piece of tonewood to the shaping of the bracing, neck, fretwork and final setup, every detail matters. Fractions of a millimetre can influence how a guitar feels, responds and sounds.

Nothing is left to chance.

It’s this obsessive attention to detail that transforms carefully chosen wood into an instrument with a voice of its own.

Small Body. Big Voice.

The Avalon Tenor may be compact, but don’t let its size fool you.

In your hands, it plays like a standard tenor—familiar, comfortable, and responsive. But the moment you hear it, the difference is clear.

Its smaller body delivers surprising projection, pushing sound into the room with the presence and punch of a guitar.

Small enough to handle. Powerful enough to be heard. Thanks to Stevie Dunne and his son for dropping by the booth at the Fleadh. Stevie Dunne Banjo

Where Wood Becomes Music

Every Avalon guitar begins long before the first note is played — with the search for exceptional wood.

For this guitar, Avalon selected flamed walnut sourced from Oregon, a remarkable timber whose natural figuring seems to move across the grain as the light changes. No two pieces are alike. Each carries its own pattern, depth and character, making the wood itself part of the instrument’s identity.

Paired with a dark cedar top, the walnut creates a striking contrast. Cedar brings warmth, sensitivity and an expressive response, while the figured walnut adds depth, clarity and a visual richness that demands to be seen up close.

Even the smallest details matter. The custom-made headfacing has been carefully created to complement the character of the instrument, bringing the whole design together with the same attention to detail found throughout the guitar.

This is what makes Avalon special. The woods aren't simply chosen because they are beautiful. They are selected for their character, their voice and the way they can work together in the hands of a skilled luthier.

When nature provides the materials and craftsmanship brings them together, something happens that goes beyond the making of a guitar.

At Avalon, we create music and art together.

The Beauty of the Wood

There is something magical about a great piece of wood.

Long before it becomes a guitar, it has already lived a story — growing slowly, developing its grain, colour and character over decades. At Avalon, that story is treated with extraordinary respect.

Every piece of timber is carefully selected for its beauty, character and tonal potential. The aim isn't simply to build an instrument, but to bring together exceptional woods and exceptional craftsmanship to create something truly special.

These two Avalon jumbo models feature the stunning depth and complexity of Madagascar Rosewood and the extraordinary figuring of Ziricote.

No two pieces are ever quite the same. The natural patterns, colour and figure of the wood become part of the identity of each guitar — making every Avalon as individual as the tree it came from.

These are guitars made for musicians, but they are also a celebration of nature, craftsmanship and the passage of time.

A piece of history in a brand-new Avalon D15MH

Some guitars have a story before you even play the first chord.

The Avalon D15MH features Brazilian Mahogany with an extraordinary history — timber that had been naturally seasoning for more than 135 years, having been stored by the same family outside Seville, Spain. No kiln drying. Just over a century of natural ageing, waiting for the right opportunity to become something special.
Avalon secured this remarkable reserve of timber and put it to work in a new generation of instruments, bringing together a truly historic wood with Avalon’s renowned craftsmanship.

And now, one of these beautiful Avalon D15MH dreadnoughts is available here in Bangor, Co. Down.

🎸 Now in stock at Windmill Guitars, Bangor.

If you're looking for a dreadnought with serious presence, beautiful tone and a story that goes back generations, this is one worth coming to see and play.

The Avalon Bouzouki — much more than Irish Trad. 🎶
The bouzouki has become an iconic instrument in Irish traditional music, but its distinctive tone and versatility make it equally at home across a wide range of musical styles.

From Irish Trad and folk to acoustic, contemporary, singer-songwriter, rock and world music, the Avalon bouzouki brings a unique voice to any musical setting.

Handcrafted in Ireland using carefully selected solid tonewoods and featuring Avalon’s distinctive design, our bouzoukis are made to deliver a combination of style, sound and playability.

Whether you're driving a traditional session, adding texture to a folk arrangement or exploring something completely different, an Avalon bouzouki gives you the freedom to find your own sound.

One of our bouzoukis was purchased about by an Australian artist attending the Belfast Fleadh at the weekend. We're excited to hear his music created on an Avalon. Get in touch.

The other is freshly finished today at Avalon. Brazilian Mahogany back and sides, spruce top with a cutaway.

Beautifully crafted. Distinctive by design. Made to be played. 🎵
