Moody Blues … because I’ve got the holiday blues and am feeling pants 🫣😬 I do love this colour way though and how gorgeous is the vintage ceramic vase that the dried flowers are displayed in! A beautifully simple yet still impactful arrangement. Lavender may be a marmite flower but personally I adore the fragrance, especially in my bedroom. What about you, do you love it or hate it? 💙🩵

The ‘Pheasant Bouquet’.
Inspired by a recent commission, I knew I wanted to re create a bouquet with these beautiful country garden stems that represent the majestic pheasant. Flowers include Eryngium (Thistle), Lavender, Twisted Willow, P***y Willow, Lagurus (Bunny Tales) Parvifolia, Oats and is finished with of course the beautiful pheasant feathers. I displayed the bouquet in an antique glass jar and photographed it in situ in my living room. I love how the colours of the bouquet sit against the Indian yellow wall and Inky blue fireplace and think it fits perfectly with the vintage decor too. What do you think?

See how I created the ‘Pheasant Bouquet.’ Taking you from the ingredients, to the make up, to the finished design. I loved putting this bouquet together and was inspired by the colours and stems of a recent ‘country garden / pheasant’ commission. The dried stems include Eryngium (Thistle), Lavender, Salix (Twisted Willow & P***y Willow), Lagurus (Bunny Tales), Eucalyptus Parvifolia, Oats and it is finished off with of course the beautiful pheasant feathers. A timeless country classic!

Dreaming of a woodland wedding?

Whatever the season a woodland wedding can be incredible. Not everyone would associate a woodland wedding with autumn but how dreamy is this set up? And no it’s not too early to be thinking about these things! Burnt oranges contrast beautifully amongst the woodland and dried flowers are not only easy to move from the ceremony area to the reception (whether that be for weather or repurposing reasons!) but they also make a beautiful lasting keepsake for the day.

Would you brave the outdoors for your wedding?

Transforming overlooked garden flowers into floral art.

I gathered some classic garden flowers and weeds such as daisies, dandelions, forget-me-nots and bluebells and put them into my flower press to see how they would turn out! I love dried flowers so dipping a toe into pressing some flowers seemed like a nice idea and using flowers from my garden was a great place to start as they were all free of cost! I love the forget-me-nots and bluebells but even the weeds look cute too. After a bit of experimenting I am keen to do more pressing with some slightly more unusual stems. Watch this space!

Which is your favourite from this selection?

I wonder how these would look pressed… 🪻💖

Flat lay to bouquet …
Or buttonhole in this case 🤣💐

Taking a selection of classic countryside stems including Eryngium (Thistle), Lavender, Eucalyptus and Lagurus (Bunny Tales) and pairing them with pheasant feathers to create a unique buttonhole.

Would you like to see how I made this one? Let me know your thoughts on the comments below.

Watch me transform this garden waste into a sculptural dried flower arrangement! Trash to treasure!

By creating various size hoops from dried grass cuttings I was able to loosely stack and weave them together into a bowl form. Then I filled the bowl with moss I had dried and then added in dried oats and millet.

As someone who loves sculpture and flower arranging this was a really fun project for me. I would love to do a proper weaving course one day as found it to be very therapeutic and rewarding. I made a few of these bows and have one in my kitchen containing fruit too. Versatile and completely free 🥰
