Dan learned the tricks of the antique book trade from his parents, Buff and Alan Ahern, who were booksellers for many years, tradiing as Ivelet Books in Redhill, Surrey. Dan spent his youth touring PBFA bookfairs particularly enjoying natural history books. In his 30s, he left the book business to qualify as an ecologist, and after a break of nearly twenty years has returned to establish Daniel Ah

ern Books in 2020. Beth, Dan's partner, is a garden designer/ecologist-turned book seller. They live together on a smallholding on Salisbury Plain near Tidworth where they have a book room (collectors welcome to visit by appointment). Daniel Ahern Books specialises in books on Architectural History, Gardening and Natural History, though they do stock other interesting old, rare and collectable books. They also have concessions in two retail outlets, both open seven days a week:
