One last dance one the Kawi, with a fresh gearbox it’s running smooth again. I’ll miss this bike but it’s time for a change. It’ll be up for sale in the next week or drop me a message for details ✉️

📢 Announcement 📢

I will be missing Anglesey and likely the remainder of the 2025 season. This is not what I wanted to be posting but a combination of mechanical, physical, and financial challenges have put me in a position where it is more sensible to cut loses and get ready for 2026.

I am gutted after putting in so much work in the build up and during this season. At times when everything clicked I have been able to produce really solid pace but unfortunately this has only been a flash in the pan around other issues.

After a troublesome 2024 it’s tough to be back in this spot again but one lesson learned last year was that it’s not worth it or safe if things aren’t right. With some luck I won’t be done riding this year but for the near future we will be parked. Hope everyone has a good run in the remaining races and we can be back at it next year.

Round 3 - Croft

📸

Friday Testing: solid test day, straight onto PB pace and only made a few changes through the day. Focused on carrying speed and improving line choices.

Quali: arrived a little late to the box and subsequently got on track in heavy traffic. Couldn’t get a clear run for the whole session until the final lap, I was behind another rider in sector 1 but got through and ran a solid sector 2 and 3 putting in a ⏱️ 1:27.07 placing me P2 on the grid.

Race 1: didn’t get quite the start I wanted and over rode the bike in the early laps trying to get into P2, I ran a good pace despite not hitting my markers and put in a 1:26.4 early on which I am happy with. My pace dropped a little as I couldn’t get settled and then when I hit lapped traffic later on I didn’t make a good job working through them. On the final lap I was passed for P3 by another rider and came home P4. A good ride but poor race management have to take the positives from this one.

Race 2: a downpour before put us out on wets, the track was very patchy and the start was delayed. I got away well and held P2 until the lead rider high sided out of the chicane. It looked as though he was going to stay in the track so I sat up and hit the brakes, couldn’t scrub speed fast enough and ran off track for a low speed tip off and a DNF. This is racing and I would rather this than have risked hitting another rider on track.

Race 3: starting from the back of the grid following a DNF I made it up to 5th in class battling through slower riders from start to finish. A fun ride although I would like to have gone a little further but I got unlucky with traffic a few times and the cards didn’t fall my way on the day.

Overall not the results I wanted at Croft but I’m very happy with the pace and set up we have found with the bike and enjoying my riding most importantly 🏁
