For many people, LGBTQ+ Pride Month is an opportunity to celebrate themselves and their communities. π³οΈβππ³οΈββ§οΈ
But if they are disabled, many of these opportunities can be inaccessible.
Making a Pride event accessible means considering more than just physical barriers. Itβs understanding how people need to interact, with each other and the space. Whether there are ways for people who are blind or deaf to get involved. How people can access a quiet place to relax, or take medication, or change a stoma bag. Where mobility aids can be stored during the event.
Disabled people should feel included in Pride.
Weβre wishing a happy Pride Month to all who celebrate! π
