I hope you’re doing good & I’m sorry I’ve been so quiet on here. Truthfully since Christmas I thought I had a lot going on, but events over the past few weeks have really put all of that into perspective for me.
As you know, the situation in the Ukraine is beyond heartbreaking. I can’t begin to imagine how it must feel for everyone who has had their lives forever changed by this.
I’m so grateful for the privilege I have, just because of where in the world I was born. We all too often take for granted a safe home, food on the table and freedom of speech. Unfortunately other places in the world don’t have this luxury, therefore I want to do as much as I can personally to help. I know it will NEVER be enough, but all any of us can do is our best.
I’ve spent a lot of time researching the best way to support the crisis in Ukraine and came across the Disasters Emergency Committee. The DEC and their local partners are in Ukraine and bordering countries providing shelter, food, water & medical care.
I myself have already donated, but I have also made a small batch of melts whereby 100% of the sale will be donated to DEC. This means if you purchase a bar for £3, I will donate the whole £3.
I know by selling a few melts it’s not going to have a huge impact but if everyone can do a little bit, collectively this becomes a lot. If everything is sold, we could raise £50. The UK government have pledged to match donations up to £20 million, so our £50 then becomes £100. This £100 is enough to feed two families for an entire month!
