A VU favourite Slow-Wave are back with a Daniel Poli & Chris Pascoe production, originally released as a limited white label back in 2005 and since become a seriously sought-after 12”. Deep rolling tribal tech house trips with that heads down feel. Still sounds the business 20 years later. Don’t sleep.

They’ve done it again! Psychemagik return with Vol. 7 of Undercover Lovers. A side is a funky, sun-kissed take on “Amazing Grace” - spiritual disco vibes, proper feel good stuff.

Flip and it gets weird… “2001” gets stretched into a 12 minute psychedelic excursion, with extra drums, rearranged sections and plenty of space to get lost in. Check!

Foul Play, fair play! We caught up with John Morrow for the latest VU blog piece to talk about the legendary breakbeat pioneers’ connections with our home town of Northampton (and the seeds of VU). Some great history here. Link 🔗 in bio ☝️.

John also popped in to catch up with us at the shop as we got our hands on a last couple of copies of the wonderful Foulplay Collection Boxset, and the ‘Origins’ double LP collection, which between them capture some of the best tunes of a particularly fruitful era in the breakbeat universe.

Another special year trading at We Out Here Festival (minus the flags 😂) in the Near Mint tent.

U-BEND back with another double-header of Balearic sweetness. One of our favourite things edit labels, always on the money.

Bent Rod kicks things of with a very nicely Rod Stewart rework - lazy, hazy and slowly builds to that euphoric end of night belter you didn’t know you needed until you’re lost init.

Broken Britain Keeps it dusty and rolling, hitting that sweet spot between dancefloors and kitchen afters. The 7th instalment of this bubbling edit labels leaves us with not much else to say other than - SHUT UP AND DANCE!

New Label spearheaded by Daniel John Willis - Third Pin recordings. They kick things off with the debut from London Collective GROUND comprised of Chisara, Joe Goddard, Esa Williams, Al Doyle, Dynamite MC and Daniel John Willis. Rooted in sound system culture, with dubby textures, percussive rhythms lovely vocals moving between spoken word.

GROUND brings together artists shaped by decades of British music, stitching together a nice crossover of electronic, live and experimental influences, with a few echoes of the legends that came before, the likes of Massive attack and Soul II Soul.

Brand new label, fresh project, beautiful music and only 100 copies made. Get involved early doors. Check!
