Thinking of giving the gift of more space?
Awnings are one of the biggest quality-of-life upgrades you can add to a roof tent setup — extra shelter for cooking, changing, loading gear, or escaping the sun. Lightweight, quick to pitch, and perfect for all-weather camping.

It’s one of those gifts people use on every single trip.

Built for blue skies and sideways rain.

Whether it’s an August heatwave or a blustery bank holiday, most roof tents are made to stay put, stay dry and keep you comfy through it all.
If you’re thinking about increasing your covered space, pairing your tent with a compact awning is one of the easiest ways to level up your set-up and stay sheltered whatever the weather throws at you.

And when the season winds down? Store your kit properly to prevent moisture build-up and water damage over winter, it keeps everything fresher, safer and ready for the first trip of spring.

We all know what the British weather is really like! Here's 5 tips for keeping your tent rain ready...

1. Always pack your tent away dry:
If you have to close it in the rain, open it back up at home as soon as you can. Even a short airing stops damp spots turning into long-term issues.

2. Check for hidden moisture before storing:
Look in the corners, seams and under the mattress, the places condensation likes to hide. A quick wipe now prevents mould later.

3. Use an anti-condensation mat or insulation layer:
These add airflow under the mattress, helping keep the inside of your tent drier during cold nights and wet mornings.

4. Clean and maintain the flysheet:
Mud, pollen and dirt slowly reduce waterproofing. A gentle wash and occasional reproof keeps water beading off properly.

5. Keep zips, seams and ladder points clear:
Removing dirt and grit helps everything close tightly and prevents small gaps where rain could creep in.

A little maintenance goes a long way, your tent will stay fresher, drier and ready for every forecast the UK can throw at it.
