Lots of progress made over the weekend in this heat 🥵

The no dig beds have been a massive success and we now have beautiful soil on what was a complete no go part of the farm 😊 Some weeding has been done and hopefully if it’s cooler tomorrow afternoon we can continue turning it over and get the plants in and rabbit proofed 🤬

A willow ‘rabbit barrier’ has been cobbled together so that should be filled this week and the Polytunnel is looking amazing 🤩 We are all ready to plant this up and we even have the addition of a scarecrow as who knew the birds would come and attack our seed trays 🤦🏻‍♀️…..every day is a school day 😏

🐝 Happy World Bee Day! 🐝

We’ve been doing our bit at Springbank Farm by planting flowers for the bees and creating spaces for pollinators to thrive 🌸🌼

Now we’re getting very tempted to add some bee hives too… 🐝🍯👀

Anyone keep bees? Talk us into it… or out of it 😄

A little milestone for us today — our first village fayre selling Springbank Farm plants 🌱✨
We are set up at Cuddington & Sandiway Village Hall. Lots of plant chats, friendly faces and a wonderful community atmosphere. Here’s to many more! 💚

Evening planting….teaching the younger generation more skills ☺️ Never work with animals as Walter the ‘no tail’ ginger decided he wanted to see what we were doing and knocked one on the floor.

Spent yesterday in the sunshine potting on ☀️

Loads of little plants all getting moved up — one of those jobs that takes ages but has to be done.

Bit messy, bit repetitive… but quite a nice way to spend a day if I’m honest 🌱

A quick water of the polytunnel…..please let it rain tonight once we are tucked up asleep 🙏🏼 The dogs did a thorough perimeter check for me and once again found a breach so that’s another job for later 🤦🏻‍♀️

The good news is we have some flowers! 🤩

No lie in Sundays are a thing 🤦🏻‍♀️ We checked the polytunnel for Rabbit breaches and Otto found it so managed to escape into the field! We have sunflowers 🤩 They are hit and miss but the protective sheeting arrives soon so we can hopefully give them a chance against the bunnies 🐇🤞Reformer Pilates later to strengthen this crippled farmers body 😉

Summer has arrived….well for a week at least! Sun cream is on but I’m sure we will all be a bit pink by the end of the day🤗. Today I have questioned why all the heavy work wasn’t finished by now 🥵

Who likes spiders? Not me 🤦🏻‍♀️ Sadly they like hiding in empty plant pots, I swear this was the size of a tarantula….well to me anyway 🤣
