Apple juicing now in progress, low crops and low yields this year due to the drought luckily we had a glut of apples last year.

Summer honey has now been extracted over the last few days a total of 506 lbs. in total for this.
Now ready to start the apple juicing later on this week. Ours is a very poor crop due to the changeable spring and also the current long hot dry spell we are having.

Just back from the Honey Show at the Royal Norfolk Show. Pleased with the results, 4 firsts, 4 seconds, 3 thirds and the Sir Thomas Cook cup for the 6 wax blocks.

Spring Honey extracted over the last 4 days, in between dodging the showers on Tuesday. A decent harvest of 350 lbs. from 15 hives as well as the capping's wax for candles and cosmetics.

Apple juicing now done for the year. A bumper harvest giving us 1400 bottles of apple juice, ideal Christmas presents with a jar of honey as well. . Let's see what next year brings.

Regrettably due to the bumper crop of apples this year we are unable to accept any apples for juicing for the foreseeable future as we have to process all of our own heavy crop.

Visted by South Norfolk Food safety team yesterday. Pleased to report that we again have a level 5 very good rating.

Honey is now all extracted, 500 lbs. of spring honey and 200 lbs. of summer honey so set up for the next 12 months.
Apple juicing is now under way with Emneth Early and Beauty of Bath done, more to get juiced over the next few weeks.

Update on honey extraction total now 490 lbs., and the sunshine has brought out another three swarms despite my swarm control measures.

Busy day on Wednesday extracting the spring honey. A mixture of oil seed r**e, apple blossom and spring flowers. A total of 400 lbs. taken off this year.

The sunshine has brought out another large swarm. We will move them later this evening.
