This photo was taken at the end of Sunday’s shift. We were exhausted, but incredibly proud. ❤️

Something extraordinary happened at Emporium Norwich this weekend. A video went viral and brought a level of demand we had never experienced before. The car park was completely full, there were queues outside and, even with five people working on Saturday, we struggled to keep up.

It was wonderful, but it also showed us that some of our current systems no longer work for the business we are becoming.

Some customers waited much longer than expected, and a few experiences fell below the standard we want to provide. I’m genuinely sorry that happened. We listened carefully to every piece of feedback and began making changes immediately.

By Sunday, we had introduced clearer waiting-time information, a better way of welcoming and organising customers, and improved communication throughout the queue. The difference was already noticeable, and the day ran much more smoothly.

I am incredibly proud of this young team, Clara, Tim and Thandie. They worked under enormous pressure while continuing to show care, commitment and kindness.

Faeren isn’t in this photo because Sunday was her day off, but she also worked incredibly hard throughout all her shifts that week, including some of our busiest services. A special thank you also goes to my mum and Tiago, who stepped in to help us through such an intense weekend. Having their support meant so much to me. ❤️

In truth, without experiencing a weekend like this, we might never have fully understood how our business needs to operate when demand grows so suddenly. It has given us a much clearer picture of how our reception, waiting list, order flow and service systems need to work moving forward.

We are learning how to grow without losing the quality, hospitality and human connection that make Emporium special.

Thank you to everyone who waited patiently, offered encouragement and gave us the opportunity to become better. We are growing, learning and getting ready for what comes next. 🤎

We’re a small artisan chocolate shop, and we’re learning and adapting as we grow. As everything is individually finished to order, waiting times may be between 30 and 60 minutes at peak times, depending on the queue.

Our Brazilian brigadeiro has been awarded Silver at the Great British Food Awards 2026. We’re still taking it in. 🥈🇧🇷

I grew up making brigadeiros with my mum, my granny, my aunts and surrounded by a big family. In Brazil, so many of us have memories like these, and every family has its own way of making them.

That’s why this award means so much to me. It recognises something we make with care every day, but it also gives me the honour of sharing a little more of Brazilian culture here in Britain.

Our brigadeiro is our own gourmet version, made with condensed milk, cream and chocolate. If you haven’t tried one yet, you can discover it as part of our Taste of Brazil experience. I’d love to share it with you. 🤎

We did it! 🥈🤎

Emporium Norwich has won SILVER at the Great British Food Awards 2026 for our Brazilian Brigadeiro.

Arriving in London today and thinking about everything we’ve faced, built and overcome along the way made this moment feel even more special.

Bringing home a Great British Food Award for our chocolate, and particularly for something so deeply connected to our Brazilian roots, is something Tiago and I are incredibly proud of. But the people we met today made the celebration even more memorable.

Meeting Paul, a chocolatier whose work I’ve admired for so long, meant so much to me. Hearing him speak so warmly about our work and about the importance of introducing Brazilian brigadeiro to more people in the UK is something Tiago and I will carry with us.

Then there was Charlotte, the first journalist to ever write about Emporium. Seeing her again, hearing her say how much we’ve grown and knowing she still cheers us on brought back all the feelings of those early days. She even asked about Manu. Those little things mean more than you know.

We also met Gabriela, a fellow Brazilian bringing pão de queijo to London. It was so lovely to connect with someone sharing another little taste of home here in the UK. 🇧🇷

And it was wonderful to meet the founders of Fen Farm Dairy and celebrate their incredible achievements too. Seeing passionate British food producers being recognised, connecting with the people behind these businesses and sharing this moment together was such an important part of the day.

Thank you to the Great British Food Awards team for such a wonderful celebration, and to every single person who has supported Emporium along the way.

We came home with a Silver Award, beautiful memories and even more encouragement to keep sharing our chocolate, our story and our Brazilian roots with the UK. 🤎🇧🇷

And somehow, it still feels like we’re only getting started.

Our last two milkshakes of the day, and a few lovely faces to remember. 🤎

These two smiles marked the final milkshakes we served on Saturday, using up the very last of what we had left!

We also welcomed this wonderful family, who joined us before their hour-and-a-half journey home. Knowing they chose to spend a little of their day with us means so much.

It’s moments like these that make Emporium Norwich special. The conversations, the familiar faces, the new visitors and the photos that help us remember it all.
