On March 17th 1971 Jonathan Trumbull and Hatters was launched in Norwich, with the intention of delivering contemporary fashion to Norwich. Stephens Street quickly became too small to cope with increasing demand. In 1976, Hatters was opened in White Lion Street to perfectly complement those labels already offered in Jonathan Trumbull. This beauty has been retrieved from our archive and still feels ahead of its time.

Lopes is set on a broader toed last than a standard cupsole trainer and is underlaid with a tan leather welt. This creates a striking individual look with a slightly deeper profile.

The body is made from soft taupe calf nubuck with a tan leather trim at the heel.

Nubuck is a full grain leather with the surface lightly buffed to create a soft, matt finish - eminently finer than suede.

The design is a ‘lace-to-toe’ with twin stitch row detail and light cushioning on the collar and tongue. Inside there is a full calf leather lining and cushioned leather insole. The white rubber cupsole has a grey outer tread and is secured with a side stitch.
