We were recently visited by Stuart from to show off their latest home cinema amplifiers! We had the opportunity to use the new AVA15, getting a feel for the new setup process.

We can't wait to have the new AVA range on permanent demonstration in shop!

KEF just did something most speaker brands would never risk: they handed the design of a wireless HiFi speaker to a sculptor.

The new LS LUXE is shaped by Ross Lovegrove — the man behind KEF's Muon and Muo — and it looks like it. An organic, moulded form meant to stand in the middle of a room and be looked at, in Dusk Titanium, Eclipse Black or Mineral White. It would be easy to write it off as a beautiful object with a speaker hidden inside.

Then you read what's actually in it.

The headline is VECO — a new bass technology KEF say is a first for a wireless HiFi speaker. In plain terms: a sensor watches how the bass cone is really moving and corrects it in real time, so the low end stays tight and controlled when you turn it up, instead of going soft the way small speakers usually do. Add the latest 12th-gen Uni-Q driver, KEF's MAT tweeter absorption, and 380 watts of amplification per speaker, and this is a serious HiFi system that happens to be shaped like an art piece.

Want to be among the first in Norfolk to hear it? Register your interest and we'll be in touch. Ber Street, Norwich, or call 01603 627010.

Cyrus 80 Series Event 23rd July

On the day, the 80 pre and power will drive a pair of OePhi Transcendence loudspeakers in the demo room, while the 80 AMP integrated takes on PMC Prophecy 5s — with a turntable set up for anyone who wants to hear the range play vinyl.

Bring a record or a few tracks you know inside out. That's when the differences stop being specifications. Thursday 23 July, sessions at 11, 1, and 3.

Call 01603 627010 or email [email protected] to book your place; spaces are limited.

Some hi-fi products explain themselves in a sentence. Entreq's new Magneus range is not one of them.

There's no plug, and no electrical connection to your system at all. Nothing is added to the signal path. You unplug a cable, pass it through the hole in the middle and plug it back in. That's the whole installation.

Entreq call these semi-passive electromagnetic field transformers, built from wood, tungsten, aluminium, copper and brass — paramagnetic and dielectric materials arranged to act on the electromagnetic field around a cable rather than the current running through it. If you're reading that with a raised eyebrow, fair enough. We're not going to try to win this one on paper.

What we will say is that the demonstration is unusually honest, because the thing goes on and comes off in seconds. Either you hear it or you don't, and you'll know within a track.

The Magneus Signal (£380) is the one that fits the cables most systems already have — network, USB and HDMI, analogue interconnects, and Eartha ground leads running back to a Ground Box. The Magneus Power (£880) is the larger unit, made for power cables — Entreq suggest close to the IEC inlet, the wall plug or the distribution block — and for speaker cables near the binding posts.

Magneus Supreme (£2100) goes furthest: eight vertically oriented elements in full 360-degree symmetry, forming a chamber around the cable rather than sitting on it. It's aimed at the feed to a hungry amplifier, or the main inlet cable to a distribution block.

Bring the record you'd use to judge a system, and we'll do the swap in front of you. Ber Street, Norwich, or call 01603 627010.
