My name is Leanne, and I have a real passion for making soaps and skin care products. Everything I sell is handmade from scratch using natural and sustainably sourced ingredients - because I care about the welfare of the wildlife living in the forests where palm oil is farmed! And there is definitely NO animal testing involved. My ingredients have been specifically chosen for their cleansing and n

ourishing properties, and essential oils added for a therapeutic and wonderfully fragrant experience. Cosmetically safe synthetic fragrances have only been used occasionally to achieve special scents that cannot be created with essential oils, such as coconut. The name Birch Lea Soaperie is dedicated to the house where I grew up which my dad built. There are beautiful birch trees in the garden and lea means meadow, plus birch essential oil is a lovely additive to cosmetic products and lea represents my name - all reasons which made for ideal inspiration for my company name!

Hi to all my lovely followers and supporters of my business over the last 10 years 😘
I've made the difficult decision to close my online shop and I'm only making products for existing stockists. This is because I'm going to be working with my husband for his business and I don't have the time for both.
I've absolutely loved creating my own skincare and the amazing feedback I've received, but to be honest it's just the working from home that's become a bit boring for me. Who knows, I may get totally sick of working with my husband and I'll get back to this in the future! 🤣
