Not every leak can be fixed on a first call out.
We recently visited this pond where they "had people" to fix it before. Unfortunately this didn't really work because (a bit of mastic, to seal is not gaurenteed to work).
First we had to drop the water level several inches below the usual flow and allow the area 48h to dry out before going back and fixing with a specialists patch and fixing in place with the correct pond safe adhesive then allowing to dry before topping back up to the normal flow.
No more leaks happy koi in both adjoining ponds with a steady stream flowing happily again.

Leaves left in your pond eventually decompose, using up oxygen and releasing nutrients that can affect water quality and encourage algae.
🐟 Healthy pond = fewer leaves!
Remove them regularly before they sink and become a bigger problem.
A little autumn maintenance now can save a lot of work later! 💧🍂

One of my personal favourite lakes we maintaine, purely because the natural wildlife is so varied, water stickinsect, newts, snakes and deers are often spotted at this lake. It's like the Norfolk version of Lake Kariba🤣🤣

The importance or another adjustable flow, because no water feature is the same.
Hard water, soft water, original water source, also what you have in your pond makes a difference on returning flow.
But as you can see here, The flow of the new water system was high on this which caused splash back into the new sleepers. (Teething problems) when fitting any new pump it's trial abd error but getting this to the right flow as soon as possible will give you less long term problems.
Don't forget its now time to book in your autumn maintenance for (oct/nov)
