Our Herefords are at the heart of Lodge Farm.

Reared here by us and forming a proper connection between the farm, the animals and what eventually ends up in the Farm Shop.

Field to fork, quite literally.

From the field to the Farm Shop.

Our home-reared beef is stocked in the freezers, with different cuts ready for everything from a slow Sunday cook to something quick on the BBQ.

You can’t get much more local than beef reared just outside the door.

A few new faces on the shelves 👋

Wildfarmed regenerative bread flour, Cornish sardines with Tunisian harissa from Sea Sisters, and Buff Bean Hummus — three very different additions, all very much worth making room in the cupboard/fridge for.

Pop into the Farm Shop and have a browse.

A little something to take your roast chicken up a notch.

We’re now stocking R. Bainbridge Chicken Rub in the Farm Shop — a savoury blend of herbs and spices with a little citrus, made for roasting, grilling or firing up the BBQ.

Pair it with one of our whole chickens and you’ve got Sunday lunch pretty much sorted.

Good chicken. Good seasoning. Keep it simple.

For all the big machinery lovers! 😍

Combining complete, fields done and another harvest in the books. The big kit has certainly earned a rest after a busy few weeks across the farm.

Until next year… although we’re fairly sure the tractors won’t be putting their feet up for long.

Butter wouldn’t melt… mainly because it would get eaten the butter along with the wrapper.

All before disappearing somewhere on the farm, chasing pheasants around for half an hour and eventually returning like nothing happened.

Butter wouldn’t melt indeed...

It’s been a tough summer for farming.

The prolonged dry weather and lack of rain has taken its toll on fields across the UK, with grass growth slowing and farmers having to adapt earlier than we’d normally expect.

Our Herefords are still out grazing, finding plenty of goodness and nutrients where they can, but we’ve also started supplementing them with some of their winter feed a little earlier than planned.

Farming has always meant working with the seasons rather than against them. Every year throws something different at you, and you adapt, look after the land and make sure the animals have everything they need.
