The Harrier started with one idea. To create a completely new shape that still felt like it belonged in the Molyneaux Guitars line-up.

Something unique, but with the same retro-inspired feel that runs through everything I build.

As the build came together, I started to notice all the little influences that had found their way into the design. Shapes, details and ideas picked up over years of being obsessed with guitars.

Little subconscious tips of the hat to the things that inspired me, brought together to create something new.

I had the pleasure of catching up with James Marino this weekend while he’s in the UK on tour with Hilary Duff

He was kind enough to take the new Harrier for a little test drive. There are a couple of small tweaks from the first prototype, but they’re changes that make sense and are pretty much unnoticeable when compared to the original.

I have to say, the McNelly Pickups Wild Range pickups sound incredible to me, especially as someone who’s usually more of a single-coil guy.

Anyway, thanks for having me, James! It was awesome to see the show and watch the whole band doing their thing.

Harrier No.2 is almost ready to go. Just final setup bits and wiring.
A couple of small things have changed from the initial prototype. But nothing drastic.
This one is fitted with McNelly Wild Range Humbuckers. I’ve had these pickups for ages and haven’t found the build to put them into until this one. And I think they look ace!
Everything else is pretty much as you’d expect. 3-way toggle switch, 2 volumes and a tone, Hipshot Hardtail bridge, SevenEight Workshop pickguards and a burgundy mist finish.
I really like this one!

Throwback to a few months back. Was a cracking day full of lovely guitars and people.
Currently busy getting some builds finished. Some really nice specs that I’m sure I’ll show you soon.

Hey! Remember when I used to play guitar? I thought I’d have a quick play with these two builds and see if I could remember how to do it.
An old riff from the 15 Second Gear Demo days that I thought would show off the two different guitars.
The Myna loaded with a set of McNelly Pickups A2 Signature pickups for that classic twang. And the Harrier with the Seymour Duncan Green Magic pickups for the beefier humbucker tone.
Both guitars are using the Universal Audio Paradise Guitar plugin which I’m using for the first time and I’m really impressed with it. I love my pedalboard and Vox AC30. But for pure ease,that plugin is excellent!
Hopefully I get time between builds and the day job to do a few more videos because I quite enjoyed it.

Cannot wait to try these Dagger Sonic pickups out! They look incredible and are packaged in a nice wooden box. And I’m a sucker for a wooden box like the good old days of Electro Harmonix or Chase Bliss. An accurate recreation of the classic Dynasonic pickups. What’s not to love?
Now, what guitar do we put them in?
