ππΌGoodbye for nowππ½
I'm sure many small business owners will be able to relate to this, but the overwhelming amount of social media that is required to run a business, is insane.
I removed to myself from my personal social media over a year ago because it was affecting my own mental health, and that of those around me. And in January when I have the idea to start asterial slumber I knew that I would have to be part of social media again and have tried to maintain a high level of online presence, but alas, over the past 3 months I've struggled to keep up with the recommended 2-3 daily posts.
It's so hard to keep relevant and innovative and I spend so many of my waking hours taking photos, preparing posts for social media, updating our blog, sharing, liking and commenting.. trying to beat the algorithm, with most weeks seeing little or no new orders.
This is not only affecting my morale and that of my partner, but also is affecting my relationships with family and friends and nothing is more important to me, than them. It is because of this that I've come to the decision to take a month away from social media. From the end of today, I will be setting up automatic posts but will not be interacting myself, and if after this month I feel that my mental health has improved, this will likely signify the end of asterial slumber.
To all of you who put in so much energy to your social media, I applaud you. It really is not easy.
So, I'll see you all in a month!
Always remember, nothing is more important than your mental health.
