🔧 WE’RE HIRING: Trainee Sewing Machine Engineer / Technician
📍 Sewing Direct, Beeston, Nottingham
Enjoy taking things apart and working out how they work? We’re looking for someone practical and inquisitive to join our team and learn a specialist trade.
No sewing machine repair experience is needed. We’ll provide hands-on training in-house, with opportunities for supplier training too.
You’ll learn to service and repair sewing machines, overlockers and embroidery machines, progressing towards industrial machines and field service visits as your skills develop.
You’ll also help customers, book repairs, place supplier orders, maintain stock, and assist with collections and deliveries.
What we’re looking for:
✅ Confidence using hand tools
✅ A practical approach to problem-solving
✅ Someone reliable, organised and able to use their initiative
✅ A friendly manner and good customer service skills
✅ A clean driving licence — applicants currently learning are welcome
A mechanical background is useful, but enthusiasm and a willingness to learn matter more. You don’t need to know how to sew!
🕘 Monday–Friday, 9 am–5 pm. Part-time and flexible hours considered.
