Have you heard of the Crash for Cash scam? It's frightening stuff.
According to the Association of British Insurers (ABI) there are three types of scam:
>
1. The staged accident: fraudsters crash their own vehicles together or mimic damage from a genuine crash.
2. The induced accident: the fraudsters targets an innocent motorist to become the ‘at fault driver’, for example by deliberately slamming on the brakes of their car to ensure the car behind crashed into them.
3. The ghost accident: fraudsters submit completely fabricated claims for accidents which never actually took place.
>
They target vulnerable people. One of the best ways to protect against this is with a dashcam that will reliably record the occurrence whatever the weather, day or night.
