TLA was founded with 3 employees and an ambition to sell control gear to the industrial electronics industry.

28 years on, we now employ over 100 people across 5 branches, and have expanded our portfolio to include automation, safety and a modifications centre to help our clients grow more quickly, sustainably and cost-effectively.

And we're not stopping there.

At TLA, we are all about people and we believe the expertise and personality of our team is what makes us so special.

So, today, as we celebrate 28 years of TLA we would like to take this opportunity to thank our employees - some of whom have been here since day one - for the dedication and enthusiasm they bring to work every day.

As always, we would also like to thank our loyal customers and partners - we wouldn't be here without you 🙏

Last week we had the pleasure of welcoming Dani Teskey (formerly McLean) back to TLA!

Some of you may remember Dani who worked at TLA from 2012 to 2019 in a variety of roles, including Sales Office Manager.

During the last 7 years, Dani took a slight career detour, gaining a degree in Sports Therapy & Rehabilitation and working as a Sports Therapist in Derby.

Dani has now found her way back to TLA and has rejoined the team as Personal Assistant to Co-Founder/Director, Dean Curtis.

A fun fact about Dani is that she was afraid of fish when she was younger. Though she claims she's gotten over that fear, you still won't catch her in any aquariums 🐟

Our June donation went to the Lewis Moody XV Cycle Challenge for My Name'5 Doddie Foundation.

In June, Lewis Moody and many others completed a 7-day, 500-mile bicycle ride from Newcastle to Twickenham to raise money for the My Name'5 Doddie Foundation.

My Name'5 Doddie was founded by Doddie Weir OBE who helped raise awareness for motor neuron disease (MND) before he passed away in 2022.

Lewis, who announced he had been diagnosed with MND in 2025, is driving forward the work Doddie started on his mission to create a world free of MND - because MND is not incurable, it's underfunded.

We are pleased to welcome Marcin Janiec to the TLA team as an External Sales Representative for our Leeds branch 👋

Marcin has over 10 years of experience in the industry having worked in a variety of sales, business development and account management roles for companies such as Rayleigh Instruments, Schneider Electric, Routeco and Scattergood & Johnson. He started his career as a panel wirer.

In his spare time, Marcin enjoys BMX and mountain biking, travelling and has a passion for performance cars and motorsport.

May Charity Donation 🌟

This month our £300 donation is going to Meningitis Now - nominated by Paul Brown, Works Engineering Supervisor at D.B. Brooks.

Meningitis is the inflammation of the membranes that surround and protect the brain and spinal cord. It can be life-threatening.

Meningitis Now is the only charity dedicated to fighting Meningitis in the UK.

For over 40 years they have invested over £12.7 million into early-stage research that has played a critical part in the introduction of five life-saving vaccines.

April Charity Donation 🌟

The charity chosen to receive our April donation is Thringstone Miners Social Centre in Leicestershire, nominated by James Brooks, Operations Director at Kirton Water Treatment Services.

The social centre offers the local community space for classes such as seated exercise, children's boxing, Dementia daycare, toddler group and local grassroots football.

We are proud to be able to donate funds to help the running of these essential services.
