I supose this is the announcement I never thought we would make.
After some soul searching and mind interrogation and after nearly 50 years of serving this fabulous community, we have decided to sell the property.
The business will carry on online , selling as normal.
This hasn't been an easy decision. But we think its the way forward now.
My old man first opened up in 1978. We weren't local. But wow!! how Bulwell has welcomed us since. To keep going this long is down to the drive of our locals. We love you all.
We really have enjoyed serving and helping you all out. We know it will be a wrench to many, this is the bit we hate, but high st shops are dropping like flies. That's why we feel so bad at the mo. But at my age, (I know I look younger😁 lol), selling the property will financially help my family and give us some needed respite. A bit of us /we time, a holiday who knows, been a long time without.
The online side of us will keep on going from strength to strength. We are getting a van and will offer quick local delivery too.
It will be full of bait and tackle. A bit like the ice-cream man turning up stashed with goodies.
Our Fishery, Jd Fishery Management, with my great pal and business partner is growing and will keep me busy too
But to round up sadly.
We as a family would like to offer our thanks to the local and surrounding communities.
For your custom, the laughs, putting the world to rights. The bottles of plonk customers have brought us. The cakes, treats for the dog, the kids we have helped, the old boys, showing them the new ways 🤔, the carp boys, although they have probably showed me lol. 🙊
The endless list of people that have helped run the shop.
My old Boy, his mates Keith and Dave bless them both now passed, from Stag. The Two kens, my Brother, Cheryl, for bagging up the tons of Groundbait. My mate Spider, and Col Tutin, both taken far too early. The school work experience kids we hope we put you on the right path.
All the Reps and Agents we met, too many to mention, what characters, our family friend Mick Pridmore. What a legend love you mate and Dad did too till his dying day.

Josh , Greeny, both were kids when they started. Now both are successful with families and good careers. The numerous match fishing clubs.

The list is endless , a 50 year list almost. 💔
But the folks of Bulwell. We have been blown away. You have been immense. 🙏
The date isn't set yet, but probably a few weeks, could be another month.
This has been one of the hardest things I have ever written i can tell you.
You call us legends of Bulwell But we know who are the real legends. You are ❤️
