⚠️ A Notice to Our Customers ⚠️

We’ve got a bit of grim news, I’m afraid.

Following the tragic accident at a fireworks factory in China back in May, many manufacturers were forced to halt production. Unfortunately, this has had a significant knock-on effect across the industry.

We received confirmation yesterday that a large amount of fireworks stock will not arrive in time for Bonfire Night.

In particular, mid to large rockets have not yet been allowed to resume production, as they were linked to the manufacturing process involved in the incident. At this stage, we simply don’t know if or when production will restart.

Now for the good news…

Being the organised chaps that we are, we’ve already secured the majority of our stock for this season—and we’re pleased to say we have a mighty fine selection of rockets ready to go!

We don’t want to spark a panic-buying frenzy… but we’d definitely recommend stocking up on your pyro a little earlier than usual this year to avoid disappointment.

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Steven Williams, affectionately known to so many as “Big Will”, who sadly passed away yesterday.

Will was a huge part of the fireworks industry. After leaving school, he began his career at Benwell Fireworks on Wilne Lane. Alongside his school friend Eddy, he fired displays across the country before the two went on to form Big Bang Fireworks in the early 1990s, where Will remained until his retirement a few years ago.

His knowledge of fireworks and their chemistry was second to none, and he was always ready with a smile, a joke, and plenty of stories. He was a valued friend, colleague, and mentor to many, and his passion for the industry will never be forgotten.

Will, you will be deeply missed.

Our thoughts are with Will’s family and loved ones at this difficult time.

🚨 Government Consultation Could Change Consumer Fireworks Forever

This week the Government launched a consultation proposing some of the biggest changes to consumer fireworks in years.

Among the ideas being considered are:

• Restricting louder fireworks to professional users.
• Banning additional consumer products.
• Lowering the maximum legal noise level.
• Expanding the list of prohibited fireworks.

The consultation states that it is seeking views and evidence before making any decisions.

However, after reading the consultation in full, I believe many of the questions appear to assume that further restrictions are the direction of travel, with respondents often being asked how restrictions should be implemented rather than whether they are needed at all.

If you're someone who believes:
✅ the UK already has some of the toughest fireworks laws in Europe,
✅ compliant consumer fireworks are not the primary problem,
✅ existing legislation simply needs enforcing,
then this is your opportunity to say so.

Legal consumer fireworks already undergo strict testing, age restrictions exist, curfews exist, dangerous products have already been banned and enforcement powers already exist. If laws are not being enforced properly, introducing additional restrictions on responsible users may not address the underlying causes of misuse.

Fireworks are enjoyed by millions of people every year.

Thousands of village displays, scout groups, football clubs, charities and community organisations rely on consumer fireworks. These events raise significant funds while bringing communities together.

If restrictions become excessive, the impact could extend far beyond enthusiasts. Retailers, importers, manufacturers, display organisers and charities may all be affected.

Whatever your opinion, please don't ignore this consultation.
