Our Thynghowe Nordic IPA reached No.1 in the Nottingham CAMRA B**r Festival 2026 app, with a sparkling 5-star rating from… a whole SIX people.

A small but exceptionally discerning electorate, we think. No need to trouble the statisticians. A win is a win, and we’ll take it every time! 🍻

Joking aside, plenty of you told us how much you enjoyed it while we were serving over the weekend, and that means just as much.

Thank you to everyone who stopped by for a b**r and a chat — it was lovely to hear such enthusiasm for this one.

And to our magnificent six: we always knew you had excellent taste. 😉

Many congratulations to The Sir John Borlase Warren for their entry in the 2027 Good B**r Guide. 😊🍻

Today I would like to say a huge thank you to Darcey. She’s the only person her that has been here longer than myself, and with me now entering by last week here, she’ll continue to be the longest serving person on The Sir John’s team under Lincoln Green.

And what better way to celebrate Darcey than to confirm, we are again in the CAMRA Good B**r Guide for 2027 published last Thursday.

Darcey, like myself, loves real ale and knows more about ale than anyone else here. She looks after the cellar and shares her knowledge with the team and customers too. Here she is heading into this weekend with 4 of the 8 ales available on the bar.

If you ever have any ale questions, ask anyone that works here, or head straight for Darcey. We never keep our ales on longer than their best. We would rather bin a b**r than serve an ale not on its best form.

Thank you Darcey, you’ve been a rock and I’ll miss you immensely.

Hard to believe 😔 🍻

After an incredible11 consecutive years in the CAMRA Good B**r Guide, we’ve learned that The Robin Hood & Little John in Arnold will not feature in the 2027 edition.

Of course we’re naturally disappointed. The pub team, led by David, works incredibly hard to maintain the highest standards of b**r quality, while championing b**rs from our own local brewery and many other independent breweries across the region.

We remain enormously proud of what Team Robin has achieved over the past decade and are extremely grateful to the many CAMRA members and b**r lovers who have supported the Robin over the years. Being listed in the Guide for eleven years is something the whole team should be proud of.

The most important thing for us is continuing to do what we’ve always done - serve great b**r, support independent brewers, and provide a welcoming pub for the local community.

Thank you to everyone who continues to drink with us, support us and champion great local b**r. We look forward to welcoming you at the bar very soon. 🍻
