Blink and you’ll miss it 👀

The books, the colour, the chaos and our little OMC logo popping up along the way 🤎

Well… what a lovely afternoon that was! 📚✨

A huge THANK YOU to everyone who came along to our Local Author Showcase today. It was so lovely to see The Grange filled with people browsing books, chatting to authors, listening to readings and discovering new stories.

To all of our brilliant authors and poets – thank you for coming, sharing your work and making the afternoon what it was. We had such a fantastic mix of books, genres and voices all under one roof.

And a special mention to our young writers who shared their creative writing with us. Seeing their work proudly displayed alongside our local authors was really rather lovely. ❤️

A very big thank you to Laura, who worked the whole afternoon alongside me – I definitely couldn’t have done it without you!

But most of all, thank you to everyone who simply came through the doors. Whether you bought a book, listened to a reading, had a chat with an author or just came for a browse, your support means so much to both us and the wonderful local writers who joined us.

I think this might have to become an annual thing… 👀📚

Thank you, Radcliffe-on-Trent! 💜

The pressure of choosing the Fantasy Book Club read is REAL 😂📚

Luckily, you can come and judge my choices for yourself…

✨ Fantasy Book Club
📅 Friday 16th October
⏰ 6.30–8pm
📍 One More Chapter

Our October read is The Last House on Needless Street by Catriona Ward — dark, twisty, strange and definitely one we’re going to have plenty to talk about 👀

You don’t need to be a fantasy expert, you don’t need to have been before, and you definitely don’t need to have profound literary insights prepared 😂 Just read the book (or as much as you manage!) and come along for a chat with other people who love escaping into slightly weirder worlds.

We’d LOVE some new faces at our next meeting, so if you’ve been thinking about joining us, this is your sign. 🖤

🎟️ Friday 16th October — book your place now (on our website or in store!)

Tag the person you’d drag along with you 👇

POV: you’ve ordered a book from your local independent bookshop 📚✨

A little behind-the-scenes timelapse of me sorting through today’s customer orders — checking them in, matching them up and getting them ready for their new homes.

There’s something VERY satisfying about seeing this many books that have been specially ordered for you lot 🥹

Thank you, as always, for choosing to order through us rather than clicking that very tempting next-day-delivery button… every single one genuinely makes a difference to our little bookshop 🤎

Now to find space for them all… 😅
