A wonderful customer gifted us this glassware to make this cracking terrarium. She has attended most of our workshops and if you’re reading this, you are a babe!

In fact, all our regulars are babes! Don’t get me wrong, seeing a new face visit the shop for the first time is gorgeous, but when we see our regulars coming back over and over again.. well that makes the job 10 times more rewarding.

Thank you for coming back, for bringing your friends and family, for letting us know you enjoy what we offer. We are proper proud to be a part of your independent high street 🫶🏻

(Ps. More medium and large terrariums coming soon!)

It’s about damn time this Alocasia got a shoutout. Say hello to September’s Plant of the Month.. the Alocasia ‘Jacklyn’

🌏Native to: The warm and humid cliamtes of Indonesia
🌱Growth habit: Upright and clumping. It can grow up to 4 feet indoors!
🌞Light: Bright light to gentle direct is best. East or West facing windows, grow lights or near South facing windows
💧Water: Water when top quarter of the soil is dry, these are thirsty plants but don’t like to sit in waterlogged soil
🌫️Humidity: Loves humidity! 60% and above is best
🌡️Temperature: They like it warm and can die back if left in below 13ºC for extended periods
🪴Soil: Loose and airy, with moisture-retentive qualities. Also grow great in Sphagnum moss or Semi-Hydro
🍎Feed: A well-balanced houseplant fertiliser or specialist Aroid feed in every other watering during the growing season both work well
🐩Pet safe? Sadly not! Alocasias are very toxic and can cause a lot of upset to our furry friends if digested
🤔Did you know? Alocasias grow from ‘corms’, which can be found in the soil and separated from the mother plant to grow more babies. You can sometimes find 30 corms in the soil of a single medium-sized Alocasia!

What do you think to our Plant of the Month pick this month? If you like it, then lucky you cause it’s 10% off Alocasia ‘Jacklyn’ in September

Say hello to August’s Plant of the Month.. Hoya Linearis!

This is a true hall of fame houseplant, so it deserves some extra time in the spotlight. Enjoy these dreamy photos of it draping in front of our sunny plant wall

🌏Native to: The high altitude forests of the Himilayas
🌱Growth habit: Trails down like a waterfall. Can reach up to 2m in length when grown indoors
🌞Light: Bright light to gentle direct is best. East or West facing windows, grow lights or near South facing windows
💧Water: Water when top third of the pot is dry, these are thirsty plants but don’t like to sit in waterlogged soil
🌫️Humidity: Love humidity! 50% and above is always best
🌡️Temperature: They like it warm but prefer colder night temperatures (imagine tropical mountains of Himilayas!)
🪴Soil: Loose and chunky, to honour how they grow in the wild (they’re epiphytes, meaning they grow of off other plants)
🍎Feed: A well-balanced houseplant fertiliser in every other watering during the growing season
🐩Pet safe? Yes! All Hoyas are pet safe
🤔Did you know? If you’re lucky enough to get your Hoya to flower, then you can enjoy the sweet sap they produce!

What do you think to our Plant of the Month pick this month? If you like it, then lucky you cause it’s 10% off Hoya Linearis in August
