Three random pieces carved from different species of wood.

The small canoe spoon with the retained bark came from an old pear tree in our garden which is slowly dying. It'll have to come down in the next year or two, I suspect.

The large scoop is from a blackthorn branch rescued from a woodpile, as was the spalted beech used for the camp spoon.

Two small scoops hand carved from Wych .
This was my first attempt at a "feather spoon", where the spoon is carved at an angle across the grain to create a chevron pattern. The grain has been accentuated with cinnamon.
