Glee 2026: busy aisles, busy stand… and one unexpected dinosaur. 🦖🎄

We’ve been having a great time at Glee at the NEC Birmingham, one of the UK’s major trade shows for the garden retail industry, and this year there certainly wasn’t much chance of standing around doing nothing.

The halls were packed, the aisles were busy and we have had a steady stream of people stopping by to talk Christmas trees, stands, accessories and everything in between. Glee brings together buyers and suppliers from across the garden retail sector, and with the show once again attracting a huge cross-section of the industry, it has been a lively affair.

We were showcasing a wide selection of products alongside our real Christmas trees, including some of the latest additions to our range, and it was especially good to see so much interest throughout the show.

There were, however, a few things we hadn’t factored into the stand plan.

Chief among them: a dinosaur wandering past.

We’ve always said there’s something at Glee for everyone, but we’ll admit that wasn’t quite what we had in mind.

A big thank you to everyone who came over for a chat, picked up a catalogue, had a look around the stand or simply stopped to investigate why there were Christmas trees in the NEC in September.

Another very enjoyable Glee — and judging by how busy it was, the garden trade clearly hasn’t finished talking yet.

A great couple of days at Four Oaks Trade Show in Cheshire! 🌲

There was a really good turnout from visitors this year and, although the number of exhibitors felt a little lighter than in previous years, the show was still a very worthwhile trip for the Cadeby Tree Trust team.

As always, one of the best parts of Four Oaks is the opportunity to catch up properly with existing customers, put faces to names and meet plenty of new people from across the industry. We had some really useful conversations throughout the show and it was great to hear what businesses are planning as we head towards another busy Christmas season.

We’ve been attending Four Oaks for many years now, and it continues to be an important date in the calendar for us – not just for showcasing what we do, but for keeping in touch with the people and businesses that make up the wider horticultural and growing industry.

Thanks to everyone who stopped by for a chat, and to the organisers for another enjoyable show. We look forward to seeing many of you again soon!

A great day at Langesø Fair 2026 🇩🇰

Last week, members of the Cadeby Tree Trust team travelled to Denmark to attend Langesø Fair, one of the most important events in the European Christmas tree, greenery and forestry calendar.

The fair provided an excellent opportunity to catch up with familiar faces, meet growers and suppliers from across Europe, and explore some of the latest machinery, equipment and ideas being developed within our industry.

Events such as Langesø are always valuable, giving us the chance to share knowledge, strengthen relationships and return home with plenty of useful conversations and fresh ideas for the seasons ahead.

Thank you to everyone who took the time to speak with us, and to the organisers for putting on another excellent event. We look forward to returning in the future!

We are out among the Norway Spruce for our summer pruning season! 🌲

In this video, we explain how our plantation team shapes and manages the trees using a selection of specialist tools. These include a traditional pruning knife, a long knife mounted on a pole, and two different pole pruners fitted with secateurs for reaching the larger trees.

The field featured in the video is particularly special to us. It is where we selected our award-winning Norway Spruce for the 2025 British Christmas Tree Growers Association Awards, as well as the impressive tree that stood outside 10 Downing Street last Christmas.

There is a great deal of skilled, hands-on work involved in producing a well-shaped Christmas tree, and summer pruning is an essential part of the process.

Christmas might still feel a little way off, but on the plantation we’ve been thinking about it for years — quite literally.

A good Christmas tree takes around a decade to grow, so the trees available this season have been carefully planted, shaped and looked after over a long period of time.

For our trade customers, getting orders in early isn’t about panic buying. It just gives us more time to help you secure the right mix of species, sizes and grades, as well as delivery dates that work for your business.

Whether you’re running a garden centre, farm shop, independent retail site or planning a large commercial display, a bit of forward planning can make the season run much more smoothly.

I’ve shared a few thoughts on current buying patterns and why it’s worth starting the conversation early in our latest blog: https://www.cadebytreetrust.co.uk/post/christmas-tree-scarcity-this-season-why-trade-buyers-should-order-early

Best,
Tom

The festive season may still be months away, but the market for real Christmas trees is already taking shape. For garden centres, farm shops, independent retailers, Christmas-tree sellers and commercial display buyers, the message for 2026 is straightforward: place orders early. The evidence suggest...

We’re delighted to be returning to the Four Oaks Trade Show again this year!

Cadeby Tree Trust has attended Four Oaks for many years, and it continues to be one of the most useful and enjoyable dates in our calendar. We’re happy to have attended the HTA National Plant Show 2026 at NAEC Stoneleigh, showcasing the latest products from our sister company, The Christmas Cabin.

This year, we were especially excited to introduce our brand-new Galaxy Range — a collection designed by our team of experts to bring innovation, quality and standout seasonal style to the Christmas market.

At the heart of the range is our flagship new Christmas tree stand: the Stella Stand. Practical, premium and designed with retailers and customers in mind, Stella represents the next step in our growing product offering.

A huge thank you to everyone who visited us at the show, spoke with the team and took the time to explore what’s new from The Christmas Cabin, it was a fantastic couple of days and we'll glad to have had the chance to meet so many new faces.

Keep posted for this and more details about our new Stella Stand and Galaxy Range in the near future!
