Update to fishery rules

On 1st September 2026 our updated fishery rules will come into effect. There are some significant changes in particular around the use of personal floatation devices so we would urge anglers to read the rules carefully. Our fishery teams are more than happy to answer any questions and queries regarding the rules.

You can access the new rules here:

*Low water at Pitsford*

With the low water levels and recent rain we are seeing areas of very soft sticky mud. Bank anglers are advised to wade with caution.

Please ensure you test the ground in front of you before wading out.

If in doubt please don't wade and fish an alternative spot.

In addition, due to the hot, still weather we have seen a blue green algae bloom in some areas of the reservoir. To keep safe if you come into contact with the water please wash your hands especially before eating or drinking

Keep safe and tight lines

Here's a nice Rutland Brownie caught by Sean Jones, during a boat session last week.

During the summer it is not unusual to see some of the better fish coming out as anglers search the depths looking for fish holding in the cooler water.

Sean had a brace of fish during his session, with one over 6lb and the one pictured over 7lb. Good angling!

Draycote is fishing to a fantastic average of 8!

Lure patterns around the aerators is the best way to get some sport, as it is packed with Fry around there!

Grafham has started to pick up now, with boat anglers reporting that the fish are getting onto the killer shrimp along the north shore w**d beds. There's some big shrimp about as well!

The fish can be up in the water as well, with tip lines being a successful line choice.

Some anglers are still opting to fish deep using lure patterns searching for the bigger specimens, which is precisely what Simon Ashton did to catch this scale perfect stunner!
