I’m so proud to be part of this exhibition at Hanbury Hall, and really pleased with the work I’ve produced for my display.

If you get the chance to visit, the exhibition is full of beautiful ceramic work from 20 different potters. It runs until 28th August, so there’s still time to come and have a look! 🏺✨

✨ Part 3 of 3 ✨

And here she is… Grace. 🤍

This is the moment I’ve been waiting for! After sculpting, glazing and the final kiln firing, I’m so pleased with how she turned out. Every stage of the process has been a learning experience, and seeing the finished piece makes it all worthwhile.

I’ve also included two of my other finished angels in this video, and I’d love to know what you think.

✨ Part 2 of 3 ✨

In this part of the journey, it’s time to glaze my ceramic angel.

For this piece, I chose a beautiful dipping glaze called Grace. As soon as I saw the name, it felt like the perfect fit for this sculpture, so “Grace” it became. 🤍

Glazing always makes me feel a little nervous because this is the moment you commit to how the piece will look. Even then, the final result remains a surprise until it’s been fired in the kiln.

✨ Part 1 of 3 ✨

Come behind the scenes as I create this beautiful ceramic angel, from sculpting the original piece through to the kiln firing.

I’m really enjoying the challenge of learning to sculpt figures and discovering each step of the creative process. Every piece teaches me something new, and it’s so rewarding to watch it all come together.

In the Flow

This collection of little angels was handmade in the flow of creativity.

Beginning with nothing more than a lump of clay and no preconceived idea of the outcome, my hands and heart worked quickly—without fear of judgement, and letting go of perfection.

It was only when I had finished that I realised each angel represented a feeling, a memory, or a quiet reminder that we are never truly alone—that we all have an angel with us, always.

Back in the studio on this beautiful spring day. Throwing on the wheel for the 1st time since October due to illness.
I still have a way to go before I’m back enjoying this space regularly but for a short time today I am soaking it all in.
